10 things that SDP can do to have a positive effect on the BB results
An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
1. Firstly, get rid of all the trappings of Sesame Street. Hide the Danny the Bear, and stop SDP members bringing their kids to hustings. This is not a picnic but a call to arms. It was tried so many times and it did not make a difference. If it worked, others would have followed it. 2. Gets your facts right. Nailing Viv Balakrisnan on YOG is good example of using the correct details during GE 2015. Viv B became highly defensive and blamed it on the everyone including cabinet. Do not raise anything that you are unsure of . 3. Unnatural Deaths - Raise the issue of the worst outbreak of Singapore medical history involving 25 renal patient and the subsequent death of 8 deaths. This is the one of the biggest coverup of the Govt. Ask for the number of patients that died and how many were transplant patients. Ask why Prof Ivy Ng, the wife of Minister of Defence had no idea for 4 months what was happening in the hospital that she has overall responsibility but was not one of the 16 disciplined. Are there 2 versions of justice. Ago raise the issue of compensation. And how does it compare to the compensation paid to NS men who have died. 4. CPF - Raise the issue of CPF and why it failed as a pension fund. Ask why the returns are not ruled paid to members and only taking out a management and admin fee. This is topic that is perennial issue and the Govt has never provide a decent answer. 5. Sovereign Funds - Raise the issue of opening the books on Temasek and GIC and to be reviewed by an independent panel of experts nominated by Singaporeans that are known for their fairness and competency. The argument of leading to speculative attacks on the Singapore currency is bogus and holds no water. The panel need not reveal all the details to the public. 6. Employment - Ask the government to come clean on born Singaporeans who are no longer employed and underemployed and their level of education. And why are there so many tertiary educated Singaporeans driving taxis. Why are we second class citizens in our own country. Why did NTUC who is supposed to protect the rice bowl of Singaporean workers hire Amy Cheong, an Australian citizen as Asst Director for a job that many unemployed and better qualified Singaporeans can do. What is the message that you are sending to foreigners. That they can get the job but are confident enough to abuse the locals and their culture. Whats is so special about her skills and qualifications. 7. Housing - Are Singaporeans confident that their children can afford to buy a home when it is their time. What is the Govt's 25 year outlook for this important sector. How many are actually renting their HDB flats to survive. Why are foreigners allowed to control the private housing market that is not classified a landed property or GCB. 8. Press - Allow the media to operate independently and be the true fourth estate. It can only serve the country and make the govt of the day more accountable. What is there to fear if the govt is supposedly made up of competent people as repeatedly claimed by the PAP. 9. Town Councils - change the approach to managing town councils. This is something that Chee has recently mentioned and it is a good idea. Have resident representation to direct and steer town councils. 10. State Remuneration - High Salary's of Ministers and senior civil servants. Why the need to hide the salary scale of senior civil servants. Is there something to hide? Why is our PM drawing the highest salary in the World of a political Leader when many Singaporeans are underemployed, unemployed and certainly worse than the mid 1980s.
