Londoners were left shaken and panicked today after a controlled bus explosion for Jack Chan film ‘The Foreigner’ was thought to be real.

Bypassers were stunned when a red double decker blew up, as people all over the area heard the noise and witnessed the very visible aftermath.

According to IMDb, the film’s tagline reads: The IRA took his family. The police looked the other way. Now he must get revenge.

But their worry was quickly laid to rest when they saw it was for Chan’s latest big budget movie, as Lambeth Bridge had been sealed off all day to film the action sequence.

After the initial panic of seeing smoke rising off the bridge, social media users were quick to dispel concern, reminding people that the filming had been scheduled and residents informed prior to the road closure.

The sight on an exploding bus likely reminds Londoners of the horrendous 7/7 terror attacks in 2005, where a bus was blown up and 52 people were killed.

The film is directed by ‘Casino Royale’s’ Martin Campbell and stars Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan.

It’s based on Stephen Leather’s thriller novel ‘The Chinaman’, about a man who moves to London only to suffer the loss of his wife and daughter at the hands of an IRA terrorist attack. After being dismissed by police when he inquires who was behind it, he takes it upon himself to seek revenge.

‘The Foreigner’ has no release date confirmed at present.
