http://statestimesreview.com/2015/08...housing-price/ Minister Tharman: Give us more time to fix the public transport and housing price admin / 2 hours ago August 20, 2015 In his announcement of his Jurong GRC candidates today (August 21), Deputy Prime Minister and also Finance Minister Tharman Shamugaratnam pleaded to Singaporeans to give the ruling party PAP government more time to fix the problems of public transport and exorbitant housing prices because these problems are “long-term”: => Who created these problems despite vociferous protest from SGs not to do so for so many years? And that's why LTK is right to say that the FAP is "忠言逆耳“ recalcitrant. And who are paying for these problems? Not the FAP ministers themselves, but the people! “Programmes to address issues such as public transport and housing affordability are meant for the long-term, and the Government needs the support of the people to see the projects through. This is a Government working very hard to build a better Singapore. We started on our new direction before the 2011 General Election and continued at a very earnest pace in the next few years. On the ground, our efforts are working, but there are many years left in this. We hope the people can support us.” => NO! The FAP has proven to be untrustworthy. Given absolute power or any power for that matter, the first thing they will satisfy their insatiable greed as the first objective. The interests of SGs are but an afterthought, if they are even be thought of to begin with. Photo of Tharman Shamugaratnam from channelnewsasia shushan lam Minister Tharman also added that house visiting for elections are mundane and unexciting but he needs to do them anyway to win support: “Our programme of house visits – there’s nothing like it, nothing to substitute for it. It’s not fancy, it doesn’t have a name, we just do it. It’s mundane, unexciting – and extremely important” His constituency, Jurong GRC, has always been seen as a safe haven from Opposition contest and hence could have resulted in boredom to the Minister.
