Vietnamese nus ungrad on moe grant jailed for taking upskirt videos

22 year-old Vietnamese NUS student Nguyen Tri Dung was jailed for 3 weeks today after he pleaded guilty to taking upskirt videos of women.

He had been studying at a NUS for 2 years but was arrested on 16th September last year when he was caught taking 2 videos of a Peruvian woman at Pasir Panjang post office.

Nguyen had completed an internship with a reputable bank in Singapore and was due to go on an exchange program using a Ministry of Education tuition grant before he was arrested.

On the day that he was caught, Nguyen was at the post office to post a parcel to his friend in Germany when he spotted his 27 year-old target. He decided to film her by taking his phone and placing it under her skirt. The victim realized that she was being filmed when she felt a piece of plastic brushing against her. She turned around and caught Nguyen red handed.

For every charge of insulting the modesty of a woman, Nguyen could have been jailed up to a year, fined, or both.
