Am i a low income worker?

I estimate that the total damage to drive a car for 10 years is approximately S$180,000 for a Japan made 1.6 litre family car.
The damage include car body, coe, road tax, car insurance, fuel, servicing and repair, parking and traffic fine.

OMG this is equivalent to 2.5 years of my gross salary. 1 consider myself not capable to drive car. No choice i take MRT and bus to work.

Yet i see many people driving big big car. Am i right to say i am earning low income?

You're not exactly low income but you aren't earning enough for a comfortable middle class existence.

You need to earn about $10,000 per month in order to move into that bracket.

TS, some basic calculations shows that your gross monthly should be about $6000. How is that low income? By low income, you should be talking about a range from 500-1500 per month.

Recently got a taxi ah peh told me he earn $4000\- per month. So taxi driver is earning better than low income!

Literally Yes! But it's a tiring job. Long hours and driving non-stop. You can be one if you want. Takes a lot of discipline. Flexible hours etc. The more they work, the more they earn.

it also depends on how old you are actually. i have friends who are in mid-twenties who earn what you do. by the time they're in their 30s they would be definitely in the 5-digit bracket dont you think so?
