Thumbs up Number of major MRT delays hits 4-year high

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

In the first 3 months this year, there were already 8 major disruptions lasting more than 30 minutes, which was equivalent to the number in the entire year of 2012 or 2013.

The NSEWL and CCL are operated by SMRT while the NEL and DTL are by SBS Transit. This year as in previous year, most of the major disruptions of service delays came from train services operated by SMRT, which is currently led by an ex-army Lieutenant General Desmond Quek.

In January alone, three severe disruptions were reported in the media within a week, affecting the North-South and East West Lines (NSEWL).

The LTA report also showed that between January and September, there were 36 delays lasting more than 10 minutes — matching the number for the whole of last year — and 266 delays lasting more than five minutes.

A netizen on his part, has also painstakingly documented down all the MRT delays since 2011:
