Seat much comfortable than Tiger airway. Won't mind to fly with Jetstar again if the fares is below $200 for a return.

Yo Bro,

Taken Jetstar once before, to UTAPAO, the airport to south of Pattaya...they have discontinued this sector now. The seats are comfortable but they are leather, hence tend to "slip off". Timings are accurate as long as there are no delays at the airport.

The best thing about Jetstar is that the seats are allocated when you check in, hence there is no need to rush to the plane from gates. You can take your time to board.

Cheers...

Service? What service? hehehe
Feedback I got is its better than Air Asia... cos Air Asia always delay... i've taken Jetstar Asia for my last 2 trips... no problem on the timing... used to take Valuair.... i prefer Valuair cos of its bigger leg space... unfortunetly Valuair no longer flies to Bangkok.
If u don't mind paying alittle more, Cathay Pacific is around 6,500THB... SGD$270?

Cool Comparison of airfares for SIN/BKK/SIN ( Fri 13.1.06 to Wed 18.1.06 )

I am thinking of going to Bangkok on Friday 13 Jan '06 and coming back to S'pore on Wednesday 18 Jan '06.

I had checked the online fares for the 3 budget airlines and quoted below are the rates ( nett, inclusive of all taxes ).

1. AIR ASIA

Fri 13.1.06 (Flight FD3504) Depart : 15:35 Arrive : 16:55 (Thai time)
Fare : S $ 85.99 + S $ 40.00 = S $ 125.99

Wed 18.1.06 (Flight FD3505) Depart : 16:45 (Thai time) Arrive : 20:05
Fare : S $ 65.99 + S $ 22.00 = S $ 87.99

Total cost of flight : S $ 213.98

2. JETSTAR ASIA (JetSaver fare ) - Fri 13.1.06 (Flight 513) Depart : 17:30 Arrive : 18:55 (Thai time)
Fare : S $ 89.00 + S $ 48.00 = S $ 137.00

Wed 18.1.06 (Flight 516) Depart : 14:55 (Thai time) Arrive : 18:15
Fare : S $ 58.00 + S $ 27.00 = S $ 85.00

Total Cost of flight : S $ 222.00

3. TIGER AIRWAYS

Fri 13.1.06 (Flight TR 116) Depart : 17:20 Arrive : 18:50 (Thai time)
Fare : S $ 139.98 + S $ 51.25 = S $ 191.23

Wed 18.1.06 (Flight TR 117) Depart : 19:25 (Thai time) Arrive : 22:45
Fare : S $ 39.98 + S $ 32.00 = S $ 71.98

Total Cost of flight : S $ 263.21

I need the advice of experienced bros here.

Bros, which airline should I opt for ?

IMO, i think JetStar Asia is a better choice.

Air asia may experience flight delay...

Tiger, too expensive for budget airline type..

Anybody knows of good website/ or place to purchase air tickets from BKK to SG to BKK?

Thanks..

Re: Jetstar asia flight

IMO jetstar is now the best value for money among the 3 budget airline in spore.

most or all of the time, it will have the cheapest rate fo the 3, with tigerair being the most ex. It seems that nowadays tigerair has changed thier strategy for their bkk flights. They are liasing more through the tour agencies to sell their tix instead of through the internet, this is especially so for the bkk tix. So all the tix left on tigerair website are overpriced. Airasia price about same as jetstar, but airasia plane always go smell and older planes.

Jetstar has got newer planes, sometime if you are lucky, they will put you on the valuair planes, cuz they merged. Somemore jetstar have allocated seats, so we do not need to behave like animals when boarding. For those worried about insufficient leg space, just request for the seats at the emergency exit of the plane. there is a total of 8 such seats with more leg space. BUt of cuz, they will tell you those bullshit that you need to help open the emergency door in case of emergency lah...so just listen to them brief you a while before take off, and you can have your peace.

Agree. Business wise, Tiger's done well -but with demise of Valuair, consumer interests (ie choice, availability) on Bkk budget flight sector are compromised. With your assessment on Tiger's tie-ups with tour agencies. its no wonder Tiger's packed with many PRC tourists especially on return Bkk/Sin (can dis-orientate you!).

No one's expecting frills on budget airline, but surely seat allocation is a minimum -beats the mad rush (think safety too!). So personally, Jetstar's
preferred over Tiger. Tiger's not that cheap, and be aware price specials are
promos with conditions (time window, weekdays etc). But for Hat Yai bound, be thankful there's only Tiger.

Air Asia, you lose out in Bkk on the bloody bus ride from out on the tarmac to terminal (to/fro). But upside is Thai puying hostesses...

Bottomline: If one's not travelling on peak periods, you will be surprised the regular airlines may not cost much more. See prices (incl taxes) between $260-300 range for Cathay Pacific, Garuda and even the "night" departure European airlines like SAS, Finnair.

Bros HaoDiDi, LongGun & YinYang,

Thank you for your comments and advice.

Since all 3 of you strongly recommend JetStar Asia, I'll opt for JetStar Asia.

Any bros going to Bangkok from 13 to 18 January 2006, please PM me and we'll meet for a few drinks together.

BTW, wonder why those PRC tourists have to shout at the top of their voices when they 'talk' - can really stand them !

Wow ! 9 out of 9 bros give the thumb up for JetStar Asia

So JetStar Asia is rated better than Tiger airways and Air Asia is rated the worst of the 3 budget airline.
