Thumbs up WTF? PAP has been letting angmo countries adopt Sinkie kids?

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

Fucking PAP always harping on the low birth rate, how NS is in jeopardy due to decreasing numbers, etc. But they allow foreign countries to come in and adopt sinkie babies? WTF? This is a first for me. Are there no sinkie childless couples that want to adopt kids. I used to remember growing up that Malay families would take unwanted chinese kids into their family. What happened to that?

Singapore was removed from Britain's list of countries as the Republic has not signed the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption. There is concern that if an adoption is not approved in Britain, the child may get stranded here. -- - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/sin....xIXfAdrT.dpuf

The move is a response to the United Kingdom's decision in January to drop Singapore from a list of countries where it recognises adoptions automatically.

A British High Commission spokesman told The Sunday Times that Singapore was removed from the list as it has not signed the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption.
