at the turn of a century after Raffles first arrived, Singapore was already a place filling up quickly with migrants from all over. at the turn of another century, we're still at the same phase. seems almost natural that it's in our cultural genome that we inherited this trait.
unity in diversity doesn't occur overnight, it's a painstaking process and it takes a tremendously big heart to be forgiving and to embrace diversity and it's richness. this is the second unique trait that we've inherited from our forefathers.
yes, we poke fun of each other's quirkiness and stuffs but all in the good name of fun. we knew where to draw the lines and at times the boundaries are tested every now and then but which relationship isn't dynamic anyway?
a real pity when labels like xenophobes and bigots are loosely hung over our heads and across our chests and our accusers are somewhat perpetrating these allegations they threw upon us? why the need of a race in our ICs when we're all of the human race? aren't we all
Homo sapiens at the end of the day?
