Tips wise, just torrent some language material, everynight 1 hour read and listen, after 1 month should be ok with basic.

If you learn language for the sake of doing business or knowing their culture, think it is worth it. But to learn becos you got kc, it's a waste of time. $ is the common language to VBs. They will be more happy if you give them $ instead of telling VBs you know their language.

yes very hard like them have different pronounce for the same word if used differently

If i am not wrong, there are 2 alphabet variation for d which is d and đ.
Their D is pronoun as y like "da" sound the same as "ya"
Whereas Đ is pronoun as d like đẹp sound the same as deck....

It is hard to pronoun the tone by just learning the word and most often we do not write the tone sign at the alphabet.
It is easier if can get someone to pronoun to you.

It is just like writing hanyu pinyin without the tone sign, so can be any of the 4 tone, vietnamese have 6 tone.

True, they should learn singlish if want to survive in sg. When i cheong malaysia, those viet FL in pub learn chinese and cantonese because their customer are mainly the local chinese. So why do we need to pay them and yet learn their language.
