Can Polyclinics do HIV tests?
Hi, I want to know if Polyclinics can make HIV tests and if yes, please tell me the cost of it? I know that DSC has a cheap HIV test but DSC is very far from my home.

bro
what u should worry is not so much on the cost but the results whether they will be confidential or not...if u go poly...no aids good...if got...there will be records and u might have problem finding jobs etc... pls go DSC for check up and refrain from sex with anyone at the moment...

Yes, please do the right thing, go have check-up & stop having sex bcos if you have STD, then it is not fair for you to pass it to ladies.

Before anyone flame you further, I like to give you some advice. DSC is a polyclinic. It is a specialist clinic for Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV/AIDS. The costs of a clinical laboratory test with DSC is the same as all other Polyclinics under National Health Group (NHG) and the like. All doctors private GP or poly GP are required by law to report to anyone test positive to the Ministry of Health. However, at DSC clinic, a separate annoymous testing service is provided by AfA on every wed evenings 630 pm onwards and sat afternoons 1pm onwards. The cost is S$20 net and it do not leave any names or traces of identity. Even if you are positive, we do not report you as it is annoymous testing and there are professionally trained counsellors to give you pre- and post-tests advice if you are HIV+ or not. As for the distance - i believe Singapore is too small to be called far. DSC is located near Bugis or Sim Lim. This is not far at all. Make a concious effort for your own health. Best regards, Afa
