Rip-Off KTV Hangzhou

Hi guys, i'm actually have been very active in KTVs around China especially Changping, GZ, Shanghai and Beijing. i love the nightlife to rejuvenate after business kick-off. I seldom write in Sammyboy as i normally "Cheong" when i'm back to the Hotel.
I was staying at Hangzhou Goethe Hotel yesterday (RMB 1750 per night), nice hotel with nice KTV with high but reasonable costs. However, to protect our fellow "Tourist" from Malaysia and Singapore who visit China for fun, i feel we should share "rip-off" KTV in China so we can avoid these type of scams. I'd to start with Hangzhou KTV (2nd Floor at Hangzhou Train Station Hotel). I must admit they have very nice girls - so called part time school girl to attract the victims. Once in, as per normal i asked for the prices :

Room : RMB 100 per night unlimited singing
Hostess : RMB 100 per night compulsory (excluding tips RMB 400-500)
Mamasan : RMB 500
Beer : RMB 45 per Bottle
Chivas 12 years RMB 800 per bottle

So, i took only Beers as i'm worried if the Chivas is a fake since they don't even stock Blue Label.
The killer is, they keep bringing "Liang Teh", Cappucino, sweets and tit bits and chocolates, again as a precaution i ask for price not to let them over-charged ! Price seems affordable at 40-45 RMB. But i told the Hostess do not take anything before asking me ! respect my money.
At the end of the day, the bill came RMB 9,000.......this is FXXX !
and they charged 10% additional on top of my credit card for service fee ! and i ask for "Fa Piao", and they said they will charge another 10% for "Fa Piao" , i just want to slap into the "Hostess Face" !

I'm a Donkey for the night ! RMB 9900 for the Bill (for 30 bottles of beer) and RMB 1,500 for the hostess and the mamasan........Things can be really dissapointing when you go to a new place and you know little things about the KTV here........
after this lesson, don't ever go to a mid-size KTV, always go to a "Big Size" / Crowded / or Popular KTV, doesn't matter if the price is expensive its better that you get rip-off ! Definitely there's good mid-size or small KTV joint, but provided you really know the action over there, or 10 times out of 10 times you will be dissapointed.
And in China, many times i tell my friends.........never trust a TAXI DRIVER !
I got my first OSCAR yesterday after Cheonging in China for more than 5 years now........DONKEY OSCAR ! Slap my face.

I think the number were already wrong in the first place... tips for MMS at RMB500!!??? You should have walked out right away!!!! Unless the MMS is really very chio and tipping her RMB500 includes a BBBJ from her as well!

Beer at RMB45 per bottle .... haiz.... and we are talking about a small size KTV and u agreed to all these prices... and worst of all, to trust a Taxi Driver!!!????

In such situation, what u should have done is this... refuse to pay! dun even show ur Credit card. Tell them to call the police! They will cool down and finally ask u for a final figure... throw RMB1k on the table and walk out! See if they dare to stop you.

Yesterday I called 110, forget this number, useless. I then call direct to Government Financial Crime Bereau 0571-12345. An Officer No 17 attended my call and explain to him in detail. Today, the Financial Crime Team are at the KTV, the Boss called me and refunded the charge to my account. I told the Boss I still "tulan", though u refund me! It's not about money only but by the way you guys treat me....he begged me to cancel the report and he'll treat me free anytime I'm in Hangzhou at his 5 KTV Joint .... Trust him again ? Should I cancel the report ? I told him don't play play with Singapore Lang, treat us better and we will treat you good with our expenses....I'm still hesitating to cancel my report...what do you guys think ? Si if have problem, first nego, still cannot ....pay and call Police straight away....then last resort is 12345....They will force the local Officer to help you...

It's a standard to pay RMB 500 as tips in Shanghai and Hangzhou....
Drop 1k and walk? Better to use big head rather guts alone....you can disappear anytime in China without trace....

Got to pay for princess(es) 公主 depending on number of pax per room, mummy all these and that.

I agree never trust their taxi drivers, sometimes locals also get screwed by locals.

This KTV (if you can even call the dingy place a KTV) is a well known suckers' joint in Hangzhou. I got fleeced there years ago, the girls kept ordering 88 rmb "lucky" drinks without my approval. However i refused to pay, and asked to see their big boss. Told him i would only pay for what i ordered, calculated the sum, and put the cash on the table. They took it, and i left ........... of course, they realised i knew the number one triad boss of HZ

Don't go to such places, in Hangzhou check out 金碧辉煌、鼎红、魅力金座、环球一号，花都，etc etc. Not cheap, but you won't be cheated, and definitely won't spend anything near 10k for a simple evening.

The last time while i was in Suzhou, the tips for the girls was 300 rmb and mms 500rmb.
mms was damm chio.. girls was pretty but mms was much much chio. wish i can up her..

On Sat, I went to a KTV near Huang Long Road and it is opp ZheJiang University. I was previously at SOS, had some drinks and left the place as it was too crowded. Walked to a next door KTV called Babala and walk out after hearing so many scary places. A taxi driver ask me to take his cab and I took his cab and told him to go Nanshan Road. But he refuse to bring me there and told me lies about how bad that place is now. So he drove and bought me another KTV nearby which I refuse to go in. Then he continue to brainwash me. I told I want to go to a pub and so he got a 'pub' opposite Zhejiang Uni is good and full of young gal. So I went there. It turned out to be another KTV.

As I had heard of so many stories about being rip off in China KTV, I did not want to go in. After talking to the captain, he assured me that he wont rip me off and told me when the drinks or food came in I will settle the bill instantly. The girls will drink whatever I order, no special drinks for them unless I allowed them to place order.This way I wont be ripped off. Finally I give in and decide to give it a go.

The gals there were generally in thieir 20s and good looking but do not expect any super models type. So I took a gal called Amy Hope I did not rem her name wrongly. She is those type of decent looking gals.

I order 6 bottles of Tsing Tao and a plate of peanuts. No fruits or other snacks. Played dice with the gal, hanky panky sing song and some dirty dancing. After getting bored with our drinking game, she suggested to up the ante. The loser will strip instead of drink. We played and I won most of the time and she was stripped until bra and panties. Then she refused to play on. By then I was horny and suggested that she go to my hotel. But she refused by saying that the gals are not allowed to go back with customers as it is illegal. Dont understand at all and dont bother to argue with her, so gave her 100rmbs and she asked for more, so I gave her another 50rmb and she is happy with that.

Leave the place and head back to hotel as I was a little drunk by then. Another taxi driver wanted to bring me to a full service sauna, but i insist to go back hotel. Below is a break down of my damage :

Beer :30 rmb each and a plate of peanuts 20 rmb (total 200 Rmb)
Room : 100rmb whole night
Gal tips: 150 rmb (min tips to give is 100rmb according to the captain).
Captain tips 50 rmb
Drinks severs 20 rmb each (total 40 rmb as there are 2 of them)

Total damage 540 rmb. Not too expensive for a 2 hours of cheapo fun.

I cant rem what the KTV name as I did not pay attention to it. And was a little drunk when I left the place.

Seriously, that is a super high price for China, even taking into account the fact that it's Hangzhou and it's 5 star international-standard hotels..

I paid almost RMB10K last Thurday nite at The Regal Club in Guangzhou! No gals, no mamasan....only 3 princesses in the room. We (8 of us mostly my colleagues, a mixture of guys and gals) had a big room (was told RMB4.8K for the room), had 3 x Blue Label and 12 beers. Thats it....the bill of RMB10K!!!

Cheap or expensive, I really dun know, but dun think I will not be going back there any time soon. Must have been a damn big carrot head.

i agree..nowadays, major cities expenditure in china is high..spending 10k is very normal in ktv. i think some bros must stop thinking that the china today is still cheap like the old days...in fact, it is the other way round. nowadays when i go back spore, i think going to spore ktv is cheaper..
