Part 3 : Where to buy 2G phones?

As expected, I have had some PMs asking me where to find older 2G phones? I thought maybe this would help.

A. Singapore
Well, your best bet is actually in City Plaza, go to the inner shops, and you can find some of these older simple 2G models. That's becoz City Plaza becomes a Indo maid and Indo workers hangout on weekends. And some of the 2nd hand phone shops cater to these group of people looking for a cheap phone. Perhaps you can find the same in Lucky Plaza (Pinoy hangout)or Beach road area too (Thai). But I am sure you look hard enough, you can find them in HDB estates where there are 2nd hand phone shops too. So go check it out

B. China (Beijing)
When I travel, I will go to ChongGuanQing in BJ to shop for the 2G phones there. There's the major huge electronics mall and the 2nd hand phone counters are located in the basement. My Indo clients pay top dollar for 2nd phones from China, because the lot there are relatively 'sanitized' and have no bot history. The top favored models are the older Flip (clamshell) phones from LG, Samsung and AnyCall. They are the best, cos the Koreans have a different way to write their firmware and very very very few bots exist for these models

C. Thailand (BKK)
Where else but MBK in BKK of course. Go check it out... Enough said.

D. Vietnam (HCM)
Near District 1 across from the Banh Thanh market.

E. Hong Kong
Geez... Mongkok, TST, any place in HK you can find plenty choices.

F. Malaysia (JB, KL, Melaka, Penang)
Ok - no money to travel far away ? then drive across to malaysia. Although this is not my preferred secondary source because majority of the 2nd handphones come from Singapore
