Illegal KTV Hostesses Continue to Ply Their Trade Here !
Came across this online news headline and extracted some paragraphs to share:-
"Many illegal KTV hostesses are reportedly playing a dangerous game of hide-and-seek with the authorities. During the New Year weekend, a 23-year-old Chinese national was one among a group of illegal hostesses who had to run to the rooftop of her KTV lounge in the Selegie area when police arrived to conduct checks..." My opinion: Huh...the rape, err...I mean the raid is back AGAIN ?!! "KTV lounges, pubs and other nightclubs frequently lose their licences amid strict enforcement checks after allowing hostesses on their premises without approval. It was reported that such offences are quite common..." My opinion: Hmm...now then I know got such approval !! "...When the girls come in, they are just like other patrons. The customers are the paymasters. We don’t get involved and we don’t pay commission to the girls.” The women, who can help attract more customers to the operators’ premises, earn their bucks purely through tips from patrons, which can add up to S$4,000 to S$5,000 a month..." My opinion: Ya loh...win win situation to the gals, operators and us mah. "...With the opening of the integrated resorts, less women are now going to KTV lounges to seek customers. Instead, they head for the casinos and pass off as patrons, holding chips in hand..." My opinion: Huh...really ? Thought they are actually gambling and not seeking business. They gamble to boast our local economic and indirectly helping us to pay to PAP tax & revenue. They earn from our tips, so their lost in casino is their 'income tax', must pay in S'pore and not bring back home, hee... Means lesser PRCs will come Sg to work in KTV liao.......so our ktvs in PC, Jln Sultan, textile centres, GL area.....etc will soon b converted to family ktv lol

Government must know that PRCs help ktvs to survive and spice up the night spot,without them,our nite life scene is very very stale

Juz hope that the raid will be on an on off schedule and less frequent soon. Perhaps shd issue more permit to KTV hostress. MOM does issue Performing Artiste Work Permit (Public Entertainment Licensees) on a 6 monthly basis. Perhaps can include the KTV gals into this category and make it legal ? Perhaps entend it to one yr ?

Qns: Is there legal KTV hostesses? Which agency is the authorised to approve such application? "KTV lounges, pubs and other nightclubs frequently lose their licences amid strict enforcement checks after allowing hostesses on their premises without approval." Qns: How to apply for approval? Sometimes i do wonder....

Can't wipe them out. The Japanese had tried that during WW2 but without success. The more they kill the more they appear. That's the indomitable spirit of the Chinese.

Allow casinos but not other types of fun? We are going to become one boring people!!!
