Going to JB? Becareful!]

Hi Folks i recieve a email from my frenz who warned me when i go to JB for whatever reasons - dun know how true is tat but think should post out ( not sure whether i post it on the correct place or not ? if wrong pls do not zap me as i just want to alert all the bros always cheong JB or pump petrol in JB
Below is the mail i received : -

Becareful when you are going to Taman Sentosa in JB. A close family friend was robbed after buying some stuff as per her email below. This is a true incident.


I have the worst shock of my life today. We stopped at Tioman Sentosa for dinner with my family (2 cars). We parted with So & So at Pagoh R&R – after dinner, I wanted to buy something so I went in to a shop with my family including my mum (around 7.15 pm) however my 2 sisters plus their husbands drove off in another car. After making the purchase, we went to our car and when I was about to close my car door, a dark skinned man (but he is a Chinese) wearing a black tee came to my side and stop me from closing my car door – he held a syringe and threaten to inject me with aids virus and demand our money and mobile. Similarly another man was at my husband’s side threaten the same.. Initially I was angry and screaming loudly but nobody came to help us. Many of them were looking and pretending not to notice. My hubby told me it’s ok just give them our Ringgit and Singapore dollars. They demanded for hand phone – and try searching my hubby’s pocket – thank God – he kept it in another pocket which he did not search. They refuse to let us go until I gave them my mobile. We lost a mobile phone and a few hundreds dollars. I intend to change my mobile nbr meanwhile pls call me and sms your mobile nbr to me at 9xxx xxxx (temporary)….my hands are still trembling while I wrote this – a reminder that we have to be alert at all times regardless where we are.

Singaporeans tend to take things for granted when travelling overseas because we rarely encounter such incidents in our own backyard. So, be alert and take the necessary precautions when travelling overseas. Snatch thefts are very common in Malaysia especially areas popular with tourists.

I'm a KLite (but I worked in JB for a while) and I agree with u that JB is quite notorious for crime especially if you're driving an expensive foreign registered vehicle (obviusly u become target la..) but I would say KL and Penang are much safer. That's why nowadays in Malaysia we tend to prefer gated community living even for landed dwellings.

Initially, I pay RM2 and tell the assh**le to F**K OFF, thinking he is a so call 'car park attendant in the famous Bak Kut Teh area, (I parked my car in near the big canal). However, the bastard start telling me he is an HIV carrier, showing me needle with threat demanding me to empty my wallet.

There are 2 of us actually and so I warned him that if you still want to pester, we will take you down on the spot be it you have AIDs or not. The joker then tame down and requested us to give him a bit more. Took out all the small not in my wallet (RM3), passed it to him and he walked away. Really feel like knocking him down when his back was facing me. Anyway, after the incident, I avoid parking in less crowded area and would rather pay those 'uncles' who help to guide your car into parking lot cause it will minimize the chances of running into such trouble..

its seems that the crime rate is getting from bad to worst. remember the case of one of the Johore CID Director who was even robbed at his own home in Kulai (if i remembered correctly) !!!!!!
A cousin of mine who stayed in a big landed house near to Jusco johore Jaya is driving around Johore in a lorry to carry out his bbusiness but has his camry parked at home and he only drives his camry when he goes outstation !!! I asked him why and he told me, if he drives his camry out in Johore, chances of him get robbed is very high !!!!!! WTF ???

I also have a friend encounter the same thing three year ago. He just give all his money which is less than 100 Ringgit. who know that fellow really got aids or not. No point to risk the life for less than 100 Ringgit.

After that incident, we done some research, the best way is to take out the money and throw the money to opposite direction. They will be more interested in the money, and you take the chance to get into the car immediately, lock it and drive away.

I have the similar experience few months back. I went there with my friend and his wife. We parked our car near the big canal behind the famous Bak Kut Teh & Bamboo Herbal Chicken. While we approached our car, we saw a tanned skin chinese guy crossing the Canal walking towards us. While we were about to close the car door, the man suddenly rushed to my friend's door and stopped him from closing the door (front passanger door). He told us he was sicked and bla bla.... and I was so frustrated and started my car engine, accelerated my car reversely with the front passenger's door open. The fxxker just fell down knocked by the front passenger's door badly. At that very moment, we observed another man appeared. We could see the one fell on the floor was blaming on the one who appeared slightly late.

We are lucky enough to escape from them. In fact, I do not hesitate to run over my tyre over his leg to give this fxxker a lesson......

Be careful to brothers who visit that area. Observe for anyone following you while you are about to reach your car, do not press and unlock your car too early. Once get up the car, lock your door immediately within a second.

it's not easy 2 gov a small country like sg.
it would be much much more difficult 2 gov a BIG country like my ??
some sg ppl also veri stuck up when they go overseas,they deserve 2 be harrassed there.
tis country has achieved alot,but do not look down on other countries.

Don't go JB?? Alamak.. dont quickly come into that kind of decission la.. how many SG flooded into JB every weekend and how many got rob.. yes i admit there is a chance u got mugged or sumthing here but the rest of the neighbouring countries r also the same what.. some r much much worst.. i know coz my work routine requires me 2 travel a lot.. u want place with lots of illegal cheap cheonging paradise, please dont expect it to be as safe as Killiney Road.. this kind of place ran by mobsters n crook what.. what can you expect.. if u ask me is JB safe or not? i say it is safe.. coz i'm a regular JB goer, still alive and HIV free.. just need to be more careful and less kiasu..

heard alot of such incidents before.. the best advise i got from my frens - blend in to the environment.. wear singlet slippers they wont even bother to look at you.. they must be aiming those bros for a long time before they got up and left for the car

The chances of you get mugged in Shanghai and Guangzhou is even worst . Why don't TS spare sometimes to visit GuangZhou's train station and he will get i mean.Btw, it's Taman Sentosa not Tioman. Tioman is an island!
