Re: STD? Think with your big head, not the small one

Bro Idoru & collin...thanks alot for encouraging me. Think i need them most right now. Tried to brighthen myself up today by occupying myself but to no avail.

Btw, Idoru, what is boil? Care to enlighten me on that. Really want to know more about my own condition.

Actually think this forum really helps alot. And hopefully my thread can help others too in knowing what is wrong if symptoms suay suay appear. But of cos, went to cheong because of this forum. hah...sorta like a double-edged sword yah?

Actually i can notice the swelling subsiding. But the thing is that, i read up oso that if it is syphilis, these swellings so called "chancre" (pronounced as shan-kre) come and go and when they go, the virus is actually still there. So to other brudders out there, think i heard someone say b4...don't deny and visit a doc if you see something. Cos there are higher chances of a cure.

Lastly, juz wanted to ask if anyone knows whether syphilis is COMPLETELY curable or not or can only be curbed like a herpes outbreak and do all the staff at DSC usually talk to the patients liddat so as to encourage us to abstain from sex.thanks...

Wish u all the best TingFengz...sincerely...

Hope u didn't get syphilis......I just find it strange that the General Practioner just passed it off (your symptoms I mean) as something minor...

As far as I know, syphilis is completely curable if detected early. And it is a disease that you can get over and over again.....ie: once u get it, u r still not immune to it......there was this one famous person (a historical figure....can't remember who right now) who got it 6 times in his long life!

Re: STD? Think with your big head, not the small one

yep...syphilis can actually cause death especially if you decide to ignore it and when it reaches its latent stage, no symptoms appear watsoever. And when it reaches the tertiary stage, it starts to attack your organs and can cause serious irreversible damage.
Just to share wif you guys after i've done somemore reading up at another site.

Bro Idoru, thanks for the site. very informative. Now hoping that mine is really boils. Looks a bit like it. Except that the last swelling cannot be squeezed like a pimple.

Actually, what i want to find out more is whether it is recurrent or not. A person can definitely get it again after one time as like chicken pox, it can oso occur twice. But more of, is the virus in your body to stay forever. That is, it stays dormant and activates any time or is a complete recovery possible?

anyone has any idea of any dermatologist that i can visit? thanks

fyi, the great musician beethoven died of STD/VD, probably syphilis. the disease could not be cured during his time. but now it can be eradicated with penicillin, either thru. injection or oral intake as prescribe by the doctor. several dosage may be necessary depending on the stage of infection. syphilis can be deadly if not detected early. the last stage of infection will damage the brain and causes "madness" in the patient. test can be done aftr one month from the point of contact. infected person shld reveal to the doc his/her partner and advise them to go for a check up too. this is to further prevent the disease from spreading. so bros, take care!

Tingfengz, u have to maintain a good health always now as a person infected with stds of 1 kind likely to get affected easily by others. Try exercising and maintain a healthy supplement of vitamins and fruits. If u smoke, try to quit cause smoking will destroy any vitamin C u took in.

Cheers

Re: STD? Think with your big head, not the small one

Finally...the wait is over and judgement day was here(8a.m.) at DSC(hell).

I walked in. My heart missed a beat. It almost stopped. One week was up and i was here to collect my syp blood test results. Gave my death cert(green DSC card). My number beeped. I went into the room.

"What are you here for?" I was immediately turned off by the crude and un-caring tone of the male nurse. "To collect my blood tests results" i replied, with a tremor in my voice. He flipped through my dockets. "It's negative". I blinked, then peeped at the card.

*haah...*. I heaved a sigh of relief. I smiled and walked out of the room. I was delighted and extremely happy. I was saved and pulled back from the hands of hell.

I rushed out of the room and out of the clinic. An extremely heavy load was lifted off my chest. As i tried to resume my normal breathing, i heard a voice behind me. "Hold on!" I turned and saw the nurse again.'oh no" i tot to myself. Maybe he told me the wrong results. ??? I blinked. " do you still need to see the doc anyway". "haah" I heaved another sigh of relief."No it's ok". I smiled and walked out again.

As i walked out, my spirits lifted and i was happy beyond words. I lighted my fav Marlboro Menthol light ciggie and left with a smile.

Really would like to thank the fellow samsters here who gave me precious advice and encouraged me. Three cheers to sammyboy.com and happy cheonging

Firstly, to start with...there was a very sad and "death" atmosphere over there as pple walk in and out for tests. My heart missed a beat when my number flashed. This was made worse by the attidudes of the staff over there. It was definitely not like wad brudders described with caring and polite staff.

Anyway, now to the crucial part. I was first examined by a male nurse. He looked and then after some conversation, told me if i wanted to take a HIV and Syphilis blood test. I opted for only the syp blood test. He drew my blood and then told me to wait outside the other room.

Waited and waited. Became more and more nervous. Was initially hoping for him to tell me that it was nothing serious. Now???. Finally, it was my turn. Went in and greeted by the medical officer. Certainly wasnt entirely friendly. After i told her my condition and she inspected, told me that it could be syphilis. My heart sank. Said that i took the blood test. Told me that i have to wait for one week for result. Worse thing was that she said that it certainly doesn't look like an acne. Heart sank again. Worse thing was that she said that it could be cured if diagnosed with syp, but even so, i will have to do follow-up for 2 years. 2 years??? This means that i will have to live with this shadow for 2 years. And i juz read up on the website that even if symptoms do not appear, the virus can still be in your body attacking your organs.

I have sworn to never engage with a geylang pro again. The pain that follows with it is definitely not worth it.

Now, i won't be able to sleep this week. Until when my results come out. And hopefully, it's negative. I told myself once more. Think with your big head not the small one. *sigh*
I understand as i've been thru this... it was hell waiting... i told myself i never wanted to go thru this all over again... then my results showed that i'm Syphillis positive...

Good to know u are ok.
But i think u over-reacted. Well then again, if u cant stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. All GPs are well trained to detect STDs. U put urself too much stress going to DSC. Ofcos i mean what u did was not wrong, but do be calm and think clearly. If i were u, I would consult the GP again.
A very lao chiao chiongster once told me...The more u scare, the easier u kanna std. That was many tears ago. In today context, i would put it as..be well informed(know the risk), the less likely of std. U decide...take care.

Re: STD? Think with your big head, not the small one

Bro TingFengz and all cheongers, after hearing the facts of life, the fundamental question is : so will u cheong again ?

Lets assume Bro Tingfengz took all the necessary precautions, proper insert and withdrawal of CD, BJ (?) and FJ with CD, no licking of CB, etc, but it still happens to him.

Probably he or bros who read this will stop for a while, but people are very forgetful, when life goes on as normal, all the adventure starts again. Am I not right ?
