Bring more money rmb
that is the most important thing
try to stay near either of the border crossings
so anytime when you do not feel like flying back home, you can always make a run for the border and then u-turn come back into zhuhai

But I doubt that its gonna affect much the way foreigners do visa runs as I'd think most would just walk across the Gongbei border (Free! Convenient!) instead of paying the additional transport costs and enduring the time to cross over the Hengqin border. And their choice of whether to do their visa run across ZH/Macau or SZ/HKG is probably going to be determined by what they want to do when either in MAC or HKG and how convenient/closer each border is to where they are at in China.

SEAJ
the gongbei border crossing only extend 2 hrs, open at 6am instead of 7am and close at 1am instead of 12midnite. 24 hrs at hengqin crossing is only for those working in macau not for tourists lah.

Always put your sling bag/pouch in the front and not the back.

Paid some school fees during my early years in China.

The government's chief spokesman announced 20 November that the opening hours of three Macau-Zhuhai border checkpoints will be extended from December 18, 2014.

According to the announcement, the Macau Cotai-Hengqin checkpoint (also known as Lotus Flower Bridge checkpoint) will be open 24 hours seven days a week.

Under the new arrangement tour coaches, with double licence plates, and pedestrians (locals, non-residents workers and tourists) can cross the checkpoint 24 hours a day while lorries will remain restricted from 8:am to 8m.

The Barrier Gate's opening hours will be extended by one hour each in the morning and at night, while the Macau-Zhuhai Cross-border Industrial Zone checkpoint will be open for specific segments of the population from midnight to 7 a.m. every day, in addition to special work permit holders who are already allowed to cross it 24/7.

The Barrier Gate border check-point currently operates from 7 a.m. to midnight daily. From December 18 it will open at 6 a.m. and close at 1 a.m.

Hengqin Checkpoint 247
Edit:Corinna updated:2014-11-25
LOTUS Bridge between Hengqin Island and Cotai of Macao can be crossed 24 hours a day starting December 18, it was announced on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Gongbei Checkpoint will extend its hours from 7am to 6am and from midnight to 1am while the Zhuhai-Macao Cross-Border Industrial Zone Checkpoint will be open from midnight to 7am for Hengqin's Macao working staff, students and Macao residents on foot.

The municipal government has worked out a plan for financial subsidy to guarantee the logistics of the Gongbei Checkpoint, Zhuhai General Station of Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection, and Zhuhai Inspection & Quarantine Bureau. Additionally, the Transport and the Urban Utilities, Landscaping & Forestry bureaus have made arrangements for extended bus operating and illumination hours.

Upon implementation of the new time schedule, dozens of inspection channels will be added at Hengqin Checkpoint. Industry insiders say that Hengqin will become the first option for sightseeing and other passenger buses with soaring numbers of border-crossers.
