Jin Yue Xuan - Good selection of Chinese food and Dim Sum
Bro banana81sg , a tip for you. this place is usually crowded especially during weekend. When you go there, approach the lady selling tea, order tea from her and ask her to get a table for you. Like this , you can jump queue faster. Do this quietly and do not attract attention from the other customer. I normally tipped the tea lady quietly..
Wow wow quite some talk on zhuhai good food... and gets me drooling already.
Dim sum: jin yue xuan and the restaurant at charming hotel are actually under a chain. Pricey but good quality dim sum. Alternatively, the wu yue hua (mayflower) in jida area also not bad. Xin hai li at xiawan also offers decent stuff at lower price.
For bros who are into spicy food, suggest to try out the hunan food at 火工殿 (the one at jida). All taxi drivers will know where it is. **note, there is also another huo gong dian in gongbei, but menu there is very limited. Ji da one is their main shop. And be warned, there is always a long queue at the jida huo gong dian.
Another place mentioned by fellow bro above is the 有鸡厨房. Their speciality is the sesame chicken 麻油鸡, which I enjoy alot. Sorta stir fried stuff served in a big wok (ala dried steam boat style). Another of my personal favourite is the qingyuan chicken 清远鸡 pot. Steam boat style with whole chicken in ginseng soup base. Real qing yuan kampung chicken served and nice texture. Can also order turtle to add in (*yummy) and I guess turtle supposed to help bros in the night activities. Hehe. Those interested in chinese style tulang can also order the tong2 gu3, also steam boat style. Can order other raw ingredients to ads on if u get the steamboat style stuff.
For some simple Guangdong cuisine, can try out 三叔煮意, also at xiawan area. If cab driver not sure, just tell him its near the old 水木年华. Must try is the roasted pork.. shiok. Also very long queue place, so try to go early... They serve very simple home-style Cantonese food at affordable prices, no fancy ingredients like those posh restaurants but very down to earth stuff and taste.
Another recommendation is the鸭嘴鱼 right opposite global one. The texture very good and no bones. Go there, buy one fish and they have a fews way of cooking it. My favourite is to eat it steamboat style and the head use it to salt and pepper-fry. The fish can also be steamed, 水煮鱼 style and also 酸菜鱼 style. The claypot rice is also nice. Do note that the place is very simple with no aircon, abit 农庄 style.
Thinking of all these makes me realllllll hungryyyyyyy now!
And ya, just to elaborate on the xiawan supper place mentioned by bro prcsytlover. Jus tell the cab driver going to 夏湾市场. Its a one-stop place for supper... all yummy food there. The supper stores start setting up at around 9.30pm. I used to stay that area...
Besides the good food, many pretty girls to watch over there too. Hehehe. Many working girls and 小三s stay in that area. I love going down to ta bao my supper at 夏湾市场. Feast both the stomach and the eyes

Wow bro, ur recommendations all quite local one. Haha.
Not all bros can get use to China setup up food. That's why I all recommend restaurant.
Another place which serve nice 湖南菜, 湘菜. Is call 毛家饭店. It's just opp 嘉丽万豪 hotel.
I quite like the taste there. Not as hot as 火宫殿. I feel HGD the food is just plain hot hot hot... But the one I try is at Gongbei. Have not try their main shop.
Personally I like MJFD more. More choice of food which is not as spicy. More suitable for SG.
Actually there's another Claypot rice stall between bamboo hotel and LHL. But I dun know how to explain the location. Quite nice and cheap. Maybe some one who knows can help.
There's another roast chicken stall, I can't remember the name. Next time I'm there, I will check it out and post here. Very well roasted.

Hahaha ya I think I become quite localized after staying in china for a few years
And yea come to think of it, some very local places whom I brought my singaporean friends/guests/working acquaintances to, they were not too used to it. Cuz I thought, imho, a lot of restaurants there are quite overpriced and the more local places serve better tasting food
Like e.g. the nanping or wan zai seafood street, I thought it was very cheap compared to sg prices. But then after exploring more places, hehe they feel expensive in comparison. Hehe anw, just share and hopefully it'll be useful to bros who are ok and are looking to try some real very local food.
Mao jia I tried before, but I'm a huge sucker for very spicy food, so fell in love with HJD haha. Looking forward to your update on the location of the roast chicken!

Appreciate the fr coz I long time no cheong zh Liao. My info a bit outdated!just don't write thesis style can Liao!
