We missed Raul....... letting him go to Chelski was a major mistake.
Looking back at our previous games, it was Raul's intelligent play that paved the way for the others to create the chances that led to the goals.

And Chelsea looked so different in their last game with Raul in the lineup from all their earlier games..... he created so many attacking moves for them.

Raul, personally, i dont really miss as i think he has lost his shine a long time ago.
But seriously, Carrol is beginning to be like another wasted buy.

don't think the presence of SG would definitely hv made the diff.
he also has many off days last season.
he is already 31 yrs old,how many more years k The Reds depend on him ?

last nite the chances were available, but it wasn't put away.
Shots (on Goal) - stoke had 3(1),while The Reds had 24(7)
Corner Kicks - stoke had 2,while The Reds had 12
Time of Possession - stoke had 27%,while The Reds had 73%
Saves - stoke had 7,while The Reds had nil

He is a inspirational character on the field which the others can feed on.
He is a leader who can lead by example and who has vast experience.
What is needed is stability on the field....
We can't draw this from the anyone on the team.
It is a shame Raul left, he work well with Suarez.

what did i previously say abt Carra n the rest of the reds defence save for Reina n Enrique?!...Carra is a bloody liability n sld be benched period...Coates/Agger combo sld be encouraged...Skertl cant play RB n what the hell is wrong wif Glen Johnson getting injured again?!...reds really need a solid RB...

overall gutted as this was 3 points wasted, same as 2 points wasted agst the black cats...kenny sld stop complaining abt refs n take a deep look at his own team...if this continues reds wont get the vital CL spot...really hope Gerrard comes back a fresh new player in the same inspirational form as manure Shrek...

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

yes looks like the reds really cld hv used a dose of Meireles, who ironically seemed to hv a gd game agst the black cats on his debut for chelski...

i really hope kenny did the right thing in letting Meireles go...even Aquilani as well to some extent...

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

stoke pen was a real 50-50 chance as the ball was booted hard n straight down the middle...reina took his chances n dived to the right...luck of the draw...

going by the pen stats in this early season...quite afew misses/saves already...think that is why pen takers may be more inclined to go for power n shoot straight down the middle especially when under pressure for eg. lampard's pen agst norwich 2 wks ago...perhaps something for goalkeepers to take note of??...

Otherwise if a stick like goalie compete with Carroll for a high cross, the goalie will be very disadvantaged.

if one is being realistic than u wld probably not expect the reds to win the EPL this season r even finish runners up for that matter...but top 4 CL spot is a must especially after all the $$$ n support provided by henry n fsg...in this regard the overall performance at stoke does not bode well...

gotta to agree wif u mate...some of fergie's newbie youngsters at first blush look ordinary n not pricey but somehow hv performed like lions in the last 4 matches...really wonder what fergie has done wif them...n as for Shrek, looks like he is samson transformed wif his new hair!...oh n that speedy little pea's movement wif first goal was quite amazing, cant believe he cost less than 10m pounds...

not a fan of lucas...but to be fair to him this lad had a gd game all things considered...like what others said abv, lack of creativity in the middle was telling...i wonder whether Meireles n say Aquilani wld hv done better?...

Watching the match with my own eyes. Adam passed well and was often the starting point for our attacks in midfield. How else did you think we had so much possession and efforts? He took some great corners too and we actually won some balls in the air without Carroll.

If you want to slag him, fine but at least have the decency to give a reason.

The midfield worked their socks off the whole match and at least should deserve some acknowledgement from fans. Remember previous occasions in the previous 2 seasons when we went away, conceded a goal and had absolutely no quality in the team to crawl back a goal?

I don't think Henderson is that bad. He did well on the right and the burst from midfield for the one on one is his trademark which we can see more of in future. Pity he couldn't finish.

I see some people here whining already about players who have left or are injured. You don't play football with those players.

i think everybody agree tat henderson is not a finished product yet.
from the few matches i've seen of him, i think he is a tidy midfield player who prefer to keep the ball moving with short passes, somehting like our "pass-n-move" style of playing. nothing too fancy, no hollywood passes, no stepovers, but simple n effective football..
give him some time under the guidance of dalglish, i'm sure he'll come good...

i see many fans complaining tat if only aquaman or raul is still with us, we'll be able to break down stokes defense..
i think we shall stop thinking of "what if" this or that player is still with us...
raul handed in the official transfer request, so no point keeping him when his heart is not with us...
as for aquaman, he is more suitable to serieA football, so we can't be sure tat he'll produce the same performance for milan (or juve last season)in bpl, and he always prefer to go back italy.. same as raul, his heart is not with us

Well said, bro.

Henderson's best asset is bursting from midfield - something that Raul also does. Unfortunate that Henderson has to do a job on the right now, which means we won't see the best of him for a while.

It's pretty clear AA never wanted to play for us - kept talking about getting an agreement here and there.

Raul wanted to leave too - whatever he says, why else would he hand in a transfer request and we sell him for only 12m?
