Facebook users slam women for bringing dog into Johor hypermarket



JOHOR BARU, Sept 6 — Facebook users slammed the action of two customers who brought their dog into a hypermarket by placing the pooch into an empty trolley as being ‘insensitive’ to Muslims.

According to a Star Online report, the photo of the two women and their dog was captured by one of the customers at the hypermarket in Plentong, Masai yesterday. It was then uploaded on the social media site and has since gone viral.

A Facebook user known only as Annie Belinda Han said that the women should not bring their dog into a public area such as a hypermarket.

“The building management should put up a huge notice board in four languages to notify customers ‘no pets allowed’ in the premise,” she was quoted by Star Online as saying.


Another user by the name of Zaberi Che Mat also criticised the security guards on duty, urging action against them for failing to stop the two women.

Tesco Malaysia today issued a statement on its official Facebook page, saying that it deeply regretted the incident and that it had very strict regulations on pets and animals on its premises.

A spokesman of the hypermarket, who declined to be identified, said about 500 trolleys had since been cleaned in accordance with Islamic principles and with the assistance of volunteers from a nearby mosque.

Star Online also reported Seri Alam OCPD Supt Abdul Samad Salleh as saying the police did not receive any report on the incident and advised the hypermarket management to prohibit customers from bringing their pets along when shopping.


Next time go Sheng Shiong or NTUC don't buy pork and put inside try trolley or else over sensitive people will be offended and will find fault.

Reuters) - The World Cup qualifier between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia at Shah Alam Stadium in Selangor on Tuesday was abandoned just before fulltime because of crowd trouble.

The visiting Saudi Arabia team were leading 2-1 in the Group A Asian qualifier when play was stopped in the 87th minute after fans launched flares and fireworks on to the pitch, local media reported.

Players from both teams left the pitch as smoke began filling the ground and did not return. The match was later abandoned with the outcome to be decided by the sport's world governing body FIFA.

Malaysia led 1-0 when Mohd Safiq Rahim scored in the 70th minute but Saudi Arabia equalised three minutes later through Taisir Al-Jassim and took the lead after 76 minutes when Mohammed Al-Sahlawi scored.

Malaysia are bottom of Group A after suffering a record 10-0 loss to United Arab Emirates last week.

Dollah Salleh resigned as coach upon returning to Kuala Lumpur on Friday and the Football Association of Malaysia appointed former international midfielder Ong Kim Swee as caretaker.

In the lead-up to Tuesday's match, Ong asked disgruntled Malaysian supporters not to disrupt the game after the supporters' group Ultras Malaya called on fans to protest at the team's poor performances.

Local media said hundreds of extra police had been deployed at the match in case there was trouble.

Malaysia's Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin later blamed the unruly fans and the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), saying they had failed to control the situation.

"FAM lost control of their own stadium. Fans throwing flares were wrong. Both at fault tonight," Khairy said in a tweet.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) hopes no one makes any speculations about the disappearance of deputy public prosecutor Anthony Kevin Morais.

It's investigations division director, Datuk Azam Baki in a statement said baseless speculations should be excluded and that it should not associated with any ongoing investigations by the commission nor to link it with police's investigations on alleged leakage of information.

"I was shocked when I heard the news and we in MACC pray that he will be found soon safely. We also hope his family members will be remain patient while police find him," he said.

Azam added that Morais had handled many high-profile cases and was currently handling several MACC related cases as well.
"I knew him well since he served in MACC. He is dedicated and committed in conducting his duty and a friendly person too. We hope that all parties pray for his safety," he said.

Meanwhile, city criminal investigation chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said there were no positive leads yet on whether the burnt car found in Hutan Melintang, Perak today was connected to the disappearance of the DPP.

"It is too early to confirm it right now. The chassis number was believed to have been scratched off and the car was badly burnt to even identify it," he said adding that police from all states have been informed to find the missing person.

It was reported that a burnt car believed to be a Proton Perdana which was the same model as the one used by Morais was found in an oil palm plantation at Hutan Melintang at 10am.

However, no human remains were found in the vehicle, which was abandoned around three kilometres from the main road, and far away from any residential area.

Morais who previously seconded to the MACC, was last seen leaving his Menara Duta apartment for work at 9am on Friday.

ABAK BERNAM, Aug 30 — Seeking to prove that Datuk Seri Najib Razak is able to muster more supporters than the on-going Bersih 4 rally in the national capital, Sungai Besar Umno division chief promised today he will gather one million people to rally behind the prime minister in the streets of Kuala Lumpur on October 10.

Datuk Jamal Md Yunos told a news conference after opening the Sungai Besar Umno divisional meeting here that he was confident he could easily top the tens of thousands who flooded the streets around Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur in response to electoral reform group Bersih 2.0’s call to pressure Najib into resigning from office, now into its second day.

“We have decided on October 10 for our rally. We will gather at Low Yat, Bukit Bintang and 1 million ‘Red Shirts’ will come down and show support for Najib,” Jamal said.

“This will show that the prime minister too has many supporters,” he added.

Tens of thousands participants gathered around Dataran Merdeka this weekend to demand Najib’s resignation over the 1 Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

The crowd started marching from various points in Kuala Lumpur around 2pm yesterday.

Separate rallies were also held simultaneously in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah; Kuching, Sarawak and several other cities worldwide pressing for the same demands.

A group of pro-government supporters who wore uniformed red shirts — hence their moniker — had last week promised a “showdown” with the yellow-clad Bersih 4 participants this weekend.

Their plans to hold a “Bersih 4 Peace” rally yesterday was called off after Jamal who is also a spokesman for the “Red Shirts,” had met with Kuala Lumpur police chief Tajuddin Mohd Isa and Dang Wangi police chief Zainol Abu Samah.

Umno members free to join Red Shirt rally, says DPM

UTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has confirmed there will be no restriction on any Umno member who wished to participate in the upcoming Red Shirts rally, also called “Himpunan Maruah Melayu” (Malay Dignity Rally) this September 16 in Kuala Lumpur.

He said, this was because every Umno member had the right to join any rally he or she wished to attend.

“We will let the police give them a permit and conduct enforcement operations.
“The rally will be organised by an NGO and the NGO will invite Umno. It is an individual’s right to attend a rally,” he said during a media conference after a meeting of the Central Disaster Management and Aid Committee which he chaired.

The rally, that falls on Malaysia Day, will see Malay supporters wearing Red Shirts marching down the streets of Kuala Lumpur and gathering peacefully at Bukit Bintang and Petaling Street. The rally is to last for 12 hours.
Its leader Jamal Md Yunos previously promised one million red-shirted people to rally behind Prime Minister Najib Razak in a show of support for his leadership.

Gurgaon rape case: The vicitms claimed that the Saudi diplomat also took them to other places, including Nainital and Agra, where they were introduced to other ‘guests’ and subjected to further sexual assault.

“Last four months were a curse for us. It was so ugly…we thought we were going to die in that house and our families would never even find our bodies,” said the 20-year-old woman from Nepal, who had been sexually abused for months.

The woman and her 44-year-old mother were rescued from the Gurgaon residence of a diplomat from Saudi Arabia on Monday night. Hired as domestic help, they were allegedly held hostage at the house and sexually abused every day for the last four months by the diplomat and his ‘guests’.

“There were days when seven to eight men — all from Saudi Arabia — would assault us. If we resisted, the diplomat and his family would threaten to kill us and dispose of our bodies in the sewer,” said the older woman. She claimed that on one occasion, the diplomat had even slashed her on the arm with a knife.

On some days, they would be given no food at all, she said. But they were allowed to bathe, right before they had to meet the diplomat’s ‘guests’, who would rape and sodomise them, said the women.

The diplomat’s wife made no attempt to help them; instead, she beat them up, alleged the women. “We were made to do all the household chores, from morning till late in the night, and then subjected to sexual assault at the end of the day. We were not given food. Sometimes we only survived on biscuits, bread and watery tea. We were never allowed to step out of the house,” said the women.

They claimed that the diplomat also took them to other places, including Nainital and Agra, where they were introduced to other ‘guests’ and subjected to further sexual assault.

“Right after we were employed, our employer took us to Saudi Arabia for 15 days. There, he did not touch us or misbehave with us. After we returned in May, he asked us to massage him… he then raped us and forced us to have unnatural sex and oral sex. After that he offered us to his friends regularly,” they stated in their police complaint.

The women were finally rescued with the help of NGO Maiti Nepal India, which was informed about their plight by another woman who had been employed as a domestic help at the diplomat’s residence but ran away within three days.
NGO members then enlisted the help of someone who had access to the women and managed to pass on a mobile phone to them. “They were in constant touch with us for the last five days. They would narrate their ordeal on the phone and we assured them that they will be rescued soon,” said Bal Krishna Pandey, convener of NGO Maiti Nepal India.

The NGO then informed the Nepal Embassy, which wrote to the Ministry of External Affairs and Gurgaon police. A police team raided the diplomat’s residence on Monday night and rescued the two women.

Maiti Nepal India has also made arrangements to take the women back to their home — in Nepal’s Morang district — on Wednesday.

When ISIS came for Zeinat and her family, they ran, terrified, for the safety of the mountains. They had heard the horror stories and knew only too well what might happen to them if they stayed in their home.

But they were too late; stranded at the foot of Iraq’s Mount Sinjar by the huge crowds of refugees struggling uphill, they were easy pickings when fighters arrived.

Separated first from her father, and then from her sisters, she was forced — like thousands of Yazidi women — into slavery, treated as the property of the so-called “Islamic State.”

Zeinat, though, wasn’t working for ordinary rank-and-file ISIS militants; instead she was handpicked to serve terror boss Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and his family and friends.

Speaking exclusively to CNN, Zeinat (not her real name), 16, has told of how al-Baghdadi beat and mistreated her. She also says he raped American hostage Kayla Mueller, who was held captive by the group after being taken hostage in 2013.

“He treated us so badly,” she says, her beautiful, expressive blue eyes peering out fearfully from behind a rust-red tasseled headscarf as she relates her harrowing ordeal at the hands of one of the world’s most wanted men.

“He would always tell us: Forget your father and your brothers. We have killed them. And we have married off your mothers and sisters. Forget them.”

Selected by the terrorist leader — though she did not know who he was at the time — at a slave market in “a white palace … between the mountain and the sea,” Zeinat and eight other girls were taken to his home in Raqqa, Syria, the de facto capital of ISIS’ territory.

As soon as she arrived, she says, she was made to watch a video showing ISIS fighters beheading a Westerner and threatened with the same fate unless she agreed to abandon her Yazidi faith.

“There was a journalist, an American journalist, and there was a man dressed all in black,” she remembers. “He killed the journalist. He beheaded him.”

Zeinat’s description matches widely circulated ISIS videos of the killings of James Foley, Steven Sotloff and other Western hostages.

Teachers at Islamic school jailed for 12 months for beating 10-year-old pupil


Birmingham Crown Court heard the boy lost his hair with worry over beatings


Two teachers at an Islamic school in Birmingham have been jailed for 12 months for "brutally" beating a young boy with a stick.

The 10-year-old victim was repeatedly beaten for offences such as "talking in class" or "failing to read the Koran accurately" at Sparkbrook Islamic Centre in Anderton Road, Birmingham.

Teachers Mohammed Siddique, 60, and his son Mohammed Waqar, 24, admitted wilful cruelty to the boy and were sentenced on Thursday afternoon.

The court had previously heard how the child became so worried about the assaults that he started losing his hair. The teachers beat him with a plastic stick as well as back-handed slaps on four separate occasions.

Judge Mark Wall QC told the pair he had not choice but to give a jail term, saying it would "not be right" to suspend the sentence.

He said: "This is not a case where you each overreacted only once to provocation, neither is it a case in which you misunderstood what constitutes proper punishment and therefore requires some guidance from probation services as to where that boundary lies.

"Added to that, there must be no mistake about the message taken from this case.

"Acts of brutality of this sort which you each indulged in, with a stick, will not be tolerated."

Sam Forsyth, prosecuting, said the men's actions came to light when the boy informed a learning mentor at his school. Photographs of his injuries showed "extensive" bruising to the back of his legs.

The judge praised the boy for having "found the courage" to tell someone about the attack, triggering a police investigation and bringing his ordeal to an end.

A restraining order was made banning either men from contact with the victim, and Mr Wall said he had no doubt the "relevant authorities" would make an order barring the men from teaching in future.

Muslims thinking more about sex amid Islamisation, activist says -



PETALING JAYA, Sept 12 — Muslims here are increasingly preoccupied with sex even as Islam becomes more conservative in Malaysia, a women’s rights activist said today.

Norhayati Kaprawi, who is also a filmmaker, noted that Malay society in the past did not have a problem with women and men mingling, and that Malay women used to wear tight kebayas without being perceived negatively.

“Now with Islamisation, Malays are starting to adopt a foreign mindset with the way Arabs look at things,” Norhayati told a forum titled “Siapa bilang gadis Melayu tak melawan?” (Who says Malay women don’t fight back?) organised by Projek Dialog at the Art for Grabs festival here.

Islam as is practised in Malaysia is beginning to show signs of increasing conservatism, illustrated among others by the local boom in the tudung industry that was a rarity just several decades ago.

Friday sermons sanctioned by the government also repeatedly tell women to cover their aurat, with a Malay-Muslim gymnast recently getting backlash for wearing a leotard.

Norhayati, who has made a documentary titled “Aku Siapa?” (Who Am I?) about why women wear the tudung, noted that Muslim women now are thought of as “tak sopan” (improper) if they do not cover their heads.

“If you wear tight clothing, you’re not thought of well; you’re perceived as ‘sundal’ [a slut]. But in the old days, wealthy women used to wear tight kebayas and sheer clothing. Nobody thought of them as bad women. The image of women has shifted,” said the activist.

A tired mother says she was told by a Muslim man that she deserved to be killed - for resting her feet on a train seat.

Ruby Butler, 27, had her feet on a chair on the Overground when the man challenged her and began threatening her.

Ms Butler, who began filming the encounter after he said she should be killed, said she would have removed her feet had he been polite but was shocked at his aggression.

She said: "I was wearing a brand new pair of white Converse shoes which had given me blisters.

"I wanted to make myself feel a bit more comfortable so I put my feet on the seat.

"The train was quite empty, there were over 50 chairs I could see that were empty but this gentleman with a beard walks along and says 'move your feet from the chair'.

"I asked him if he worked for the train company and he said 'Yes I do' so I asked to see some ID but he said he was off duty today.

"I said 'Come back to me when you're in a uniform'.

"I was refusing to move them because of the way he spoke to me. If he asked me politely I would have done it.

"He told me that I deserve to be killed and then as soon as I heard that I started recording."

Ms Butler posted a video to her Facebook page, which has been viewed more than 500,000 times.

She explained: "I asked him politely to go away three times and he wouldn't go away."

In the footage, the Muslim man is shown standing over the mother of two, who was travelling from Wanstead to Acton North last Thursday afternoon.

He said: "I cannot sit there and I cannot pray with my clothes okay? And I travel every day"

Ms Butler said: "Yes? Ok."

Another male commuter, who tried to calm the situation interjected: "I 100 per cent agree with you - she is just not worth arguing with."

Ms Butler, who agreed, said: "It's really not. I am tired. It's been a long day.



The man then said: "You should be in prison."

She asked: "What for putting my feet on the chair?"

The Muslim man then walked to the other end of the carriage, to argue with other passengers.

A young male passenger shouted: "This is England, bruv."

The elderly man replied, in a thick Pakistani accent: "Don't argue with me, I know this is England, I was born here and I have as much right as you have."

The pair then argue inaudibly as Ruby walked closer to film the squabble.

The Muslim man, who is facing the other passenger, then shouted: "What are you going to do are you going to do - hit me?"

He led the Muslim man to the train door and said: "Let's get off the train, come on.

The Muslim man then dialled a number on his mobile and said that he was going to call the police.

Ms Butler replied: "This is all because I have my feet on the seat. Please get the police. If they can arrest me for putting my feet on the chair then I will gladly be arrested."

"But I don't have the same religion as you, Sir. I pray with my shoes on.

"Every day I with my shoes on. I am Christian."

The man shouted: "I am a Muslim and I cannot."

Ruby replied: "This is not a Muslim country."

The man then walked off the train with the other passenger before the video cut out.

Ms Butler thinks the unnamed elderly man was upset because her shoes were dirty, meaning a Muslim person could not pray on the seat where her feet were resting.

She said: "My understanding is that his point of view was that I had my shoes on there and now a Muslim person can't sit there and pray because my shoes are dirty.

"But I had day old blinging white converse shoes and I wanted to say my shoes are cleaner than your clothes so go away but I didn't want to cause an argument."

She also said it might be because of her gender: "It's possibly because I am a woman and I spoke back to this man and he got more and more upset and more and more angry.

"If it was a Muslim lady she might have done what she was told but I am from a Christian community and we don't believe in being spoken down to by men.

"A lot of people have commented that I am racist but I couldn't be racist if I wanted to. I have a lot of Muslim friends and even converted Muslim friends."

Ruby was contacted by the British Transport Police after the footage emerged, but the man is yet to be traced.

She added: "I hope something happens, even if I just raise a bit of awareness for young girls travelling on the train."

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "We are aware of the video in question which shows an altercation between two passengers on board a London Overground train.

"We are currently investigating and anyone information is asked to contact British Transport Police."
