It was like 3-4 years back when the industry played with the government loop holes on the law regardless how they could operate during the fasting month or any holy holiday.

Eve is always closed.
Any hotel can serve alcohol and massage thus u suddenly see so many small hotel coming up over the years like Tematic, classic, emporium, Sun city, Alexis etc etc.

Also if you are register as a restaurant, u can also serve beer the whole day. Others are allowed to operate after about 8 pm and closes around mid night.

So basically not much changes now during the fasting month as compared to many years back where the city is totally dead.

some info from my trips to jkt

jkt is a fascinating city. the jams are much worse than BKK .
probably cost you about S$17-20 ( advise to take silver bird , its a long ride especially with jam) to get to downtown from airport. do try to arrive on an earlier flight , else you will be stuck in peak hour traffic from 5-8pm ( sometimes 9pm also jam)

hotel wise, i will say the city offer a whole myriad of choices from service apartments, budget one to the international brands ( hyatt, marriot, ritz carlton )

i think it is important to chose a hotel with a good location, somewhere close to the action and where your biz meetings will occur. you do not want to waste time getting stuck in the jams and sometimes, the taxi got to go one big round just to make a U -turn, such is the way the roads are designed there. In a bad jam, you might be better off walking

personally, i find Mulia Senayan very convenient to stay. Less than 5min taxi ride to plaza senayan and senayan city where you can do your shopping or bird watching. Note, there are many hot babes here.. pretty much what you can find at paragon in BKK.

if bro intend to cheong in the kota, you can choose to stay in places like ancol or mangua dua . hotels there generally cheaper as compared to the Kemang in the south or in the CBD.

but take note, late in the night, 3-4am, kota can get quite messy. some rogue cops might stop your taxi and ask to see passport. I kena once before and had to give them 100k rupiah . didnt want to argue and spoil my night as i had 3 birds with me. hence, if you are thinking of cheonging/ONS in the south ( red square, CJ, dragonfly) , it might be more advisable to stay somewhere near.

ktv - been to zen and not much value here in terms of quality vis-a-vis beijing or macau ktv.

bordello - alexis, maliboro , i usually do this on the way to the airport if my flight is in the evening . honestly, it is quite tiring to get stuck in the jam while trying to get to north jkt if u happen to stay in the south.

normal massage with some specials - places like fortune spa etc.
the birds here are not top notch, but the price is reasonable for such quality. good place to relax and enjoy the facilities .

generally, jkt is a nice place to cheong, minus the jam.
the clubs can get happening on fri or sat night and gals are more friendly vs sgp one. however, the overall quality on display cant be compared to places like taipei. but i find that it is easier to get ONS in jkt , so overall, this place still rocks for me .
