Everything including rice prices going up but my miserable pay still the same for many years.

Worst still may lose my job when get older.

When you buy penny stocks, your entry level is very important and you must always set a stop loss point. When it reach your stop loss point, you must take action. You cannot hesitate and tell yourself to hold on. If you do that, then one citiraya or accord or IPC type of shares will kill you one day.

You can make profits from many trades but if you hit one that goes down to zero, then all your profits plus capital also wiped out.

We should also not be too fast to take profit and keep our losses small to preserve our capital. Your profit will be great if you hit a good one and ride the way up. One good trade can cover your many trades of small losses.

Not very true leh ... I still got friends who are in mid-30s just jobless. I think it depends on which industries - maybe IT and what types of jobs - blue collar or white collar.

But I know a lot of the mid-30s professional are out of jobs after their companies down-sizing.

Economy is definitely going down and inflation going up. Petrol up, rice up, flour up, luncheon meat up, ERP up, all hawker food up ... all up except salary

Read that all the UK teachers are on striker as their increment is something like 2-3% while inflation is 4.3%.

Now, Sg 1st quarter inflation is > 6% ... what liao ! When is the last time Sg has such a inflation.

Feeling the pinch since last year already ... the already little salary is even lesser now with all the increases ...

Only started in 05, didnt heard of these stocks, you must have loads of experience.

Definitely ... inflation is already > 6% now so unless our increment is >= 7%, we're still behind inflation.

I don't even dare to think that I'll be having 0.1% increment. Company is downsizing and even my boss is asked to leave. I would be happy if I can still keep the job.

Sigh, life is getting harder ... Last time, my dad used to earn 500-1k a month and can support a family of 7 and my mom a housewife.

Now, I can see even a family of three can struggle - even with both husband and wife working

My advice is go for China related stocks for short and medium term investment. Bear in mind that Olympic is coming soon.

Still the same advice as 2 yrs ago, "Olympics coming soon"? China SSE index shaved off 50% from 17th Oct 07 - 18 Apr 08, from 6092 pts to 3094 pts and this with the Olympics just ard the corner? Sorry bro, but this advice is outdated and certainly not true.

Buying stocks on such broad and overused themes will only bring regret as it did for me. Do your due diligence on the companies you're interested in, reading annual reports, related news, monitoring how the company's shares react to news (positive or negative). There's no free lunch in this world, money that comes quickly goes quickly as well (if not faster).

I prefer to stick with US companies with a proven track record (understandable financial numbers) and have a feasible plan to penetrate the developing economies. Like how Yum's brand is expanding into China. This stock has steadily climbed 17% since i read the report about 4-5 months ago.
I like the growing economy of China, plus the easily accessible reports of US companies...not the mention the growing revenue benefits from a weakening dollar vs the yuan.

Keep growing those cash!

Just bought JADE. Been telling myself to stay away fm non-fundamental base counter...and now seems like history repeating itself again. If its not cos of the coal story, I wouldnt buy the stock. Bought at 9cts. Gonna cut loss at 6.5cts.
