Yes. I hold a pink IC. My grandparents/ parents and I were born and bred in Singapore. People who are less intellectually inclined may not earn less than those who are intellectually inclined. It's how they make the most of their skill set and strive to work as hard as possible. As some people mentioned, by working 12 hour shifts, taxi drivers can earn 4+k a month. That's not too bad for a job which does not require any form of prior education.

And I'm not against people who are less intellectually inclined or earn less money than the average Singaporean. My message in this thread has always been "live within your means" and "be happy with what you have"

If it makes you happier, I'm not from a combat unit. And no, I'm not telling you which unit I'm in so that my real life identity can be exposed.

However, training to be soldiers, fight for our land, once in our lives, 2 years of our time. I did go through BMT in Tekong.

I like how you always give such long replies to my posts. Now can you please elaborate what you have changed your mind about, how changing your mind has impacted those "brothers" who I presume earn less than you and how you envision changing your mind can help your "brothers".

Indeed I know of people like that in my unit. His parents are not very good at bringing money in/ is in jail, he qualifies for financial aid from the government and has permission from my boss to work part time after army hours as a waiter.

HOWEVER, he eats canteen food for breakfast, lunch and tea, uses an iPhone 6+ 128GB and cabs to and fro camp everyday when he's not trying to chao keng MC.

What do you have to say about societal scums like him? Should the government be doing more to help him?

Yes changing your mindset is the first step but after that you have to follow it up with an action plan.

Grand proclamations mean nothing. This forum is full of them. When I first started this forum I used to get regular messages like "Brother... I support you all the way!"

To find out what exactly these pledges of support actually meant, I used to reply with something like "Thank you very much for your promise of support. I really need help with the hosting fees which are going up monthly. Can you assist by helping me cover some overheads? It will help me grow the forum."

Of course I never heard from these people again.
