Depends on which part of Thailand you going to retire. Not all places in Thailand is cheap. Bangkok now no longer as cheap as per 5 years ago.
I personally knew some rich girls in Bangkok and ChiangMai, and my gf is quite well off too. What I can say its depends on luck and places where you go hunt girls.

Maybe i will regret not taking the 50K frm my dad, but i stick to my decision coz i was really a spoilt kid since young and my parents always accomodated me. For my diploma studies(i have yet to graduate after 4 years lol, but very soon will settle it), i took 20k from them liao....
