You will be the sponsor for applying the visit pass and visa instead of her aunt as this is enable the application for LTVP or even PR easier. Immediately
after your marriage, go down ICA to apply for LTVP. Given your income and qualification should be no problem. Translation of documents to english must be done before submitting to ICA. Recommended to do it in China as it is much cheaper compare to Singapore.

Your wife to be must apply for student pass when she intended to take up course here but case to case basis depending on type of course.

You could try to apply PR after getting LTVP. From the current situation, it seem like it is easier to get one now. Hope all these info could help you.

Cheers
Bro kelvinaili,

If i did not get it wrong the steps as follow:

1) book a ROM date in SG.

Then i ask my GF to print out the ROM Document.

2) Apply for her a visa of entry of 30 days

3) After the ROM , Apply a LTVP for her directly with our ROM cert.

4) After getting the LTVP cert apply for PR.
For this i understand that the government is strict on this i know that the chances of her getting PR in one short is diff but i dun mind trying. But just to be on the safe side if i apply too many times will this affect her LTVP chances or future chances of getting PR ?

Thanks bro.

I am intending to marry my PRC GF who i have know for 3 year coming next year after i complete my studies.

A few question i would like to consult bros here.

1) Should I marry her in PRC or in SG. Which is easier to obtain the LTVP ?

A) PRC
I understand from bros and my friends working in china is that you need
some under-table $$ to register your marriage over there ? Do i need to apply a tourist visa which has a valid 30 days entry to PRC or do i just use the 14 days visa that is given to us as i heard from some friends u need at least a valid 14 days visa to register your marriage over there ? Any bros have experience on these ?

B) SG
As for to register our marriage in SG I need to apply her an entry visa do i apply under my singpass or can i still apply under her aunt who is also from PRC but already a singaporean (This has been the case for all her visit to SG) ?

2) After obtaining our marriage cert can i go directly to ICA to apply for a LTVP for her to stay in SG. If yes , will it take a long time? As i worry that I need to fly her back to PRC and then back to SG again in case the result come after her visa expiry date.

3) In the very lucky case she is able to obtain her LTVP. Do i still need to apply for her a student pass as she would like to take up some course in SG ?

4) As for the very last question, will it be very difficult for her to obtain a PR based on my stats below. I will only try my luck after her 2nd year in SG.

My stats as below

Salary : 3.5 - 4 K
Yearly income tax : 50K
Working for the past 4 years
Currently working in a local listed company.
Education Level : Degree ( unless fail when applying for the PR i should be a Master )

Thanks Bro for your time in looking at this look message.
bro, something else for you to consider, in addition to what the rest of the bros here have told you.

1. i dunno whether getting married in sg or chn is easier for her to get LTVP. But i can tell you that the spore marriage law gives her more power than the china one. China marriage law is still more "advantageous" to the guy.

2. you dont need under table money to register your marriage. however, i think maybe there could be some conditions tied to your type of visit to china. however, if the issue is the stay in china, it shouldn't be difficult for you to apply for a longer social visit or a business visit visa to china. if you are really very interested to explore this approach, i can ask my friends who had done it.

cheers and all the best to your marriage!

bro, whether you can buy a house in china hugely depends on whether you have the money or not. it's that simple. china, though very luan, don't have stupid FIXED rules like spore.

in china, only scared of one thing - you got no money. got money, almost everything is possible.

Hi bro,

At first i was also thinking in this way meaning the china marriage cert route.

As to me it give me the flexibility of having the marriage cert first . Then i can apply for LTVP then if that approve then i can fetch her from china. Can help me ask your friend on how he handle on this ? Thanks . I understand from my friend is quite easy for the locals to marry just go there take a photo and can get marry liao.

Re: Marry PRC

Do you have the intention to settle down in her hometown?

If not buy house for fXXK! registerthe house under her name and she can do what she want and kick you fxxk off!

Be realistic...open your eyes and see...

A different of 12 years old is not a major issue. buying a house not staying and registering under her name is a MAJOR issue.

Re: Marry PRC

I would encourage you to register the marriage both sides Singapore and China.

If only register in Singapore, she could jolly run back and remarried another day without anyone knowing....

For those PRC girls who are not serious, they would never want to register in China!

For foreigner to register in China is different from local. You need to notary public that you are single at Singapore embassy before you can register in China.

Thanks bro for the information.

So meaning i need to go to the embassy in singapore to get my single status before i can get marry in china ?

Ya I think we would get it done in both country just finding means of which route is better for her to get her to stay in SG first.

can't understand why there is a urgent need to apply PR for her, as LTVP is as good already. but based on your stats, there is a good chance that she can get a PR, but i think ICA also looks at the period of marriage before they are willing to approve.

applying too many times shouldn't affect her chances for LTVP or PR, just that if she was rejected for PR, u will need to wait for a few months (i think is 6 months) before u can apply again.

for my experience, me and my wife (holds a LTVP) at the time of marriage, and successfully got her PR on the first try after 2 years of marriage.

haha, if u want to know how the PRCs experiences in applying for PR in Singapore, u should go to this popular website. that's how i and my wife really learns from others' experiences.

hu sun814,

The website you mention can give me the link ? To me the only advantage of her getting her PR is that we can go for BTO then a resale flat. Have been looking around the COV is still 30 - 40K... So got to stay with parent first.

So bro can ask you how you bring your wife over to SG at first ?
care to share your exp.

Can anyone can re-clarify the above statement. If a prc woman get married (w/o divorce) in singapore, she can still get married to another man in china. You mean the chinese government don't do a check on their locals marriage status ?

hi bro, apparantly it's like what you say, very simple, except with one tedious task you need to do - proof of your marital status. this one is quite tedious as you need to go ROM, supreme court, mfa and finally chinese embassy in spore.

one more point to note: it is best if you can ask your girl to check for all the documents needed for you to marry her in her hometown. you know china, you might never know if one place in china differs from another in terms of marriage requirements.

cheers.

i dont think the chinese govt check. fyi, i don't think the spore govt check too. i did mine a few yrs ago in spore and ROM didnt even ask for proof of my wife's marital status. however, i dunno if that has changed now.

bro, i will advise against marrying in both countries. in a certain sense, you're committing a double marriage offence, though to the same girl.
