The older generation of Vietnamese only have vaccinations against a few major types of infectious diseases, but the newer generation have more than Singaporean children. They have a few extra vaccinations due to environmental issues there. When my twin daughters were borned in Vietnam, they had more than a handful of vaccinations. Vietnam do not have the latest vaccinations that's 3 in 1 or 5 in 1, so for each vaccination, each kid has to take up to 3 times for example, 1st dose, 2nd dose and booster dose. But such doses can be completed in just 1 jab in Singapore. During the initial few years for my gals, i am bringing them to the clinic for jabs every other month.

Yes, bro, you are correct. It takes YEARS and lots of communications and patience. Not easy but when you see the change, you will feel happy. Next thing is, viet gals, like singaporean gals, do not like to stay with in-laws.

up to u ...

you can indicate singaporean if u like to in the birth cert BUT its going to cost u tons of problem staying in VN ... e.g. cannot appy for a Vietnamese passport n etc ...

so is best to indicate Vietnamese during birth .... then apply Sg Citizenship ...

My Bb got it in less than a month ... now collecting bb bonus

initially was thinking doing her a sg passport but then staying in vn will be a problem coz she will be treated like a foreigner entering vn n staying will be a problem ... unless go to their local authority n apply for long term permit with her birth certificate ....

or another way is travel using 2 passports

finally i opt for a vietnamese passport (cheaper n faster) ... producing her birth certs when entering, she was excused of filling up the form n got a different entry stamp ... so NOW already went to ica to obtain another stamping in her passport to indicate a sg citizen on her vietnamese passport that last for 21 yrs ortil the day she renounce citizenship.

fyi ... child can ...

1. hold 2 citizenship
2. hold 2 passport.

fyi ... child can ...

1. hold 2 citizenship
2. hold 2 passport.
For this, she is Singaporean by REGISTRATION. She has to renounce her Vietnamese citizenship when she turns 21, or choose to give up her Singapore citizenship for Vietnamese. This is a good move if the child is going to stay in Vietnam for the longer term, but bro, why do you want yr child to grow up in Vietnam?

The reasons why i came back Singapore are quite simple:
(1) Better environment for children to grow up
(2) Better education for children.

I heard of a lot of Singaporean husbands with vietnamese spouse allowing their children to grow up in Vietnam, thinking that they can come back Singapore anytime when its time for school. Think about it, the kids are brought up in a vietnamese environment, tieng viet and viet culture, the kids will face a lot of difficulties to adjust back to Singapore when they come back for school. Nowadays, kids don't start school only at K1 or K2, they start school way before that. My youngest boy, borned in Singapore, is already in Pre-Nursery at 20 months old. My wife's friend ask her why let the kid go school so young, but my wife and i realised and have experienced that kids will learn faster and have a better start if they start school earlier. To each their own, just sharing my own experiences.

And they can be very heartless if they decide to leave a man. We ended our 9 months relationship yesterday. Very painful. Did so much only to suffer cos I got no money. But lucky for me, I'll have a chiobu from hcmc coming to Singapore next Monday to stay with me for a month

...and along the way, spend a fortune still to build up the mindset. If your baxa is the reading-type (chances low), go to the local big bookstore there to get a few good books for her to digest at her own pace. Some are direct translation of the English versions (e.g. Dale Carnegie's).

It's also good to 'find' a compatible, reasonable relative (sister, brother, cousin, etc.) that you can always allude to in their achievements & success in building their family life.. unless there's no such relatives... the last alternative is to use the case of successful bros in this forum.

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner

lets say in the sense that i am not legally married with my wife in spore yet but then she gives birth to my baby in vietnam.. so the citizenship for the baby should be vietnamese rite.
Right now it is also very hard for vietnamese to obtain PR or singapore citizenship rite.
