Dont you think that you are confusing it with the restaurant Somboondee? i have been to the Somboon Restaurant behind national stadium and gotten excellent food and i dont think we paid more than 6000 baht tops for 10-12 people and we did not hold back. Also the place is mostly full of local people.

As per my previous post I'm talking about Somboon Seafood in Ratchada not Somboondee Seafood.

I shall let the Bangkok regulars and residents to comment whether THB6000 for 10-12 persons is cheap or not.

It's ok if you want to pay touristy prices.

Guess it depends on individual and who is attending the meal and who is paying for the meal. If it is business clients or similar, Somboon is fine. For me, if personal meal or with friends, I will go for cheaper option.

It is almost the same as in Singapore. There are different options, example Crystal Jade vs hawker chi zai. With the same food, Crystal Jade is damn expensive and dun equate to better taste.
