Re: Marry PRC
I would like to share my story abit also...
i am getting married soon with a PRC soon also, known her through my frequent travel working in china. I also come to understand that having a house it's almost mandatory in china to get married. But lucky for me, now that they came out with a rule of not being able to buy a HDB if you have any pte property or oversea property save me tons of trouble there. Her parents are also not demanding, only asking for 25 tables in china and nothing else. no need dowary or anything. now currently arranging the weddings preparation. |

Re: Marry PRC
Braddah, congratulations on tying the know with a wonderful Chinese gal. Not all PRC gals are bad people. In fact, would go out and say 98% are fine and would make good wives. Probalem, is the braddahs too exposed to the world of KTV and GL and paid sex and all vices hence stereotype the gals.

Re: Marry PRC
I think the official answer is no. My answer is do anything you want but don't get caught. Recently The Online Citizen reported a case where 2 PRs had a foreign property besides their HDB. When their HDB was en-bloc (sers), HDB didn't give them a replacement flat. HDB only pay them the cost of their original flat. I thought the rule is pretty harsh since the PR didn't actuallly choose to give up their original flat.

Re: Marry PRC
I ever thought of marrying a Chinese but monthly income is an issue. As my take home pay is unable to provide a comfortable lifestyle for my Chinese ex-gf if she become housewife on social visit pass will be a burden to me

Re: Marry PRC
Hello Bro... I need some advice and pardon me if I had posted on the wrong place... I wish to have my gf to stay with me for a month, but I am not sure how to go about the applying of VISA. Normal VISA valid for 14 days. My friend told me to apply a social visit VISA then extend the VISA. Just wanna to ask any one did tried to apply 1 month VISA since its given an option to apply up for 30 days for social visit ....
My gf had never work or student in SG, she only been in SG twice to visit me ... Thank You in advance... |

Re: Marry PRC
Hi bros,
I am intending to marry my PRC GF who i have know for 3 year coming next year after i complete my studies. A few question i would like to consult bros here. 1) Should I marry her in PRC or in SG. Which is easier to obtain the LTVP ? A) PRC I understand from bros and my friends working in china is that you need some under-table $$ to register your marriage over there ? Do i need to apply a tourist visa which has a valid 30 days entry to PRC or do i just use the 14 days visa that is given to us as i heard from some friends u need at least a valid 14 days visa to register your marriage over there ? Any bros have experience on these ? B) SG As for to register our marriage in SG I need to apply her an entry visa do i apply under my singpass or can i still apply under her aunt who is also from PRC but already a singaporean (This has been the case for all her visit to SG) ? 2) After obtaining our marriage cert can i go directly to ICA to apply for a LTVP for her to stay in SG. If yes , will it take a long time? As i worry that I need to fly her back to PRC and then back to SG again in case the result come after her visa expiry date. 3) In the very lucky case she is able to obtain her LTVP. Do i still need to apply for her a student pass as she would like to take up some course in SG ? 4) As for the very last question, will it be very difficult for her to obtain a PR based on my stats below. I will only try my luck after her 2nd year in SG. My stats as below Salary : 3.5 - 4 K Yearly income tax : 50K Working for the past 4 years Currently working in a local listed company. Education Level : Degree ( unless fail when applying for the PR i should be a Master ) Thanks Bro for your time in looking at this look message. |

I suggest that you get ROM in singapore. Firstly book a date to register and then apply for visit pass and visa before 2 weeks before actual ROM. Remember to ask your GF to hold on a copy of the online ROM printout when she came into Singapore as the ICA officers will definately ask her the reason she is here. You will be the sponsor for applying the visit pass and visa instead of her aunt as this is enable the application for LTVP or even PR easier. Immediately after your marriage, go down ICA to apply for LTVP. Given your income and qualification should be no problem. Translation of documents to english must be done before submitting to ICA. Recommended to do it in China as it is much cheaper compare to Singapore. Your wife to be must apply for student pass when she intended to take up course here but case to case basis depending on type of course. You could try to apply PR after getting LTVP. From the current situation, it seem like it is easier to get one now. Hope all these info could help you. Cheers |
