Bro C=M ... the best place to change is at Yangon airport ... rate is as good as any where in town. Take crisp new uncreased not-folded clean USD

The money changers at airport now accept sgd. So there is no need to lose exchange rate twice and bother with super mint condition usd.

Thou I still carry some usd for emergency.

But that's me. I didn't really bother to compare sgd > usd > kyat vs sgd > kyat. I guess cos I didn't change much, that few dollars is not worth killing my brain cells.

these days they accept not-so crisp USD as well. you can change those notes at CB Bank counter. They don't bother about marks on the note these days.

Was there just last week for business trip. And oh boy.... I gained enlightenment.... You really need to have someone(preferably local) to bring you around.

I did not go to the usual JJ or music bar(park royal). Instead my friend brought me club hopping. The likes of BME, DJ's Bar, GTR, Pioneer and Libra to name a few. These clubs usually operates till 3-5am and can get crowded during fri and sat. Pioneer and Libra are the popular joints, DJ's and GTR has few WLs as there are more artas clubs. All cab drivers will know where the clubs are.

The scene:

Typical club with tables and a decent dance floor, very loud music blasting. (For the uninitiated, almost 99% of gers you see in these clubs are WLs. Only 1% are party goers! Why 1% u ask? Probably it's a culture thing, good gers are not allow out of homes late.)

Depending on club, the price will be 80-100usd. But u can always ask for discount. Similar to "show times" in china, periodically, the gers will go out to the dance floor to "dance". Basically there for u to choose. If you're uncertain whether the ger is a WL or not, you can ask the waiters.

After u choose the ger, she will accompany you the whole night, most of the time till u've done your deed back in the hotel room and she leaves or u can ask her to stay till morn. Note: some hotels require the ger to register her id at the front desk and pay additional guest fee. You also need to have your own CD. WL may be slightly picky too. They'll choose whether to go off with you too.
