seems like bros here r nt very interested in Pool's pre-season friendlies. altho last nite's game agt Rapid Vienna was only a friendly, it was a really disappointing match by the Reds. they really dished out trash!

Rafa fielded snrs + jrs in both halves. not a single Reds player was particularly outstanding. onli chance i could rembr was d kuyt shot which hit d side netting. on d other hand Rapid had several chances n could hv won by more than 1 goal.

some may say we shdnt get overly worried wif friendly results. but d game gave clear indications tt we do nt have enuff depth to really trouble d opposition. players like babel, lucas, voronin, degen disappointed. while d young defence which carra n skrtel played with d youngsters was jittery n exposed many times. Rapid wasnt a bad side, juz like 1 of those teams in d lower rungs of EPL like d Hulls, d Sunderlands which defend in numbers n play on d counter ... which Pool will need to perform better agt this season.

hopefully d spanish contingent plays in d next friendly n we shd see a side playing with more conviction and spirits.

I am not worried about the result at all.

Pacheco stood out for me. He was full of tricks and movement and played better than in Switzerland.

Just going to follow the pre-season and enjoy this Sunday

yep Pacheco has been good so far.
Degen has been decent as well.
Babel looks like he will never improve

if i m not wrong, pool are having 2 training sessions a day and an extra weights training after that. everyday. very tiring, i assure u. the reason for the fitness training is sound. rafa did that last season and see those late goals liverpool scored. they were still full of running at the end of the game whereas the opponents were already shagged out. i would not be too worried about the pre-season scores.

from the move u quoted, kuyt got the opportunity due to the dummy sold by pacheco. i like that. it shows that even the reserves have the presence of mind to know where their first eleven teammates r running. cheers.

gee my nephew is one of the boys shortlisted for matchday ball boys,he will be there on fri while pool having thier tranining session,he s jus thrill to bits,even if he don t make it to the game atleast he will get to meet the players during the training session.

bro.. the scarf is correct but the actual cape will be a little bit different la.. got hood and all.


actually the scarf is quite nice.. there'll also be some other smaller things to buy - i.e. mini-flags, horns etc etc.

For those who bought the East Stand (Kop), you will be able to redeem one scarf per ticket.
Redemption can be made during match-day once you come in from the East Entrance.

Those who bought North, South and Grandstand, I'm afraid you got to buy it from the Harry's F&B temporary outlets inside the stadium (yes, Harry's is the official F&B, so prepare to take more money.. there won't be any DRINKS, KEROPOK OR POPIAH!!!)

Those who are lucky enough to buy the Balcony Seats (S$388/- and only sold to a few privilege ones) can redeem a Goody-Bag and enjoy free-flow beer and food at the Balcony area.

Oh, there'll also be a match-day booklet for purchase; comes with a Liverpool poster. Going at S$10/-.

There'll be a live singing of You'll Never Walk Alone by a overseas singer. This will be around 6.45pm or so.. so get ready to sing it out loud like a true Pool die-hard!

mmm..not too sure about the lower grandstand getting free scarf.. Steve McMahon did not tell me about this arrangment.

But one thing's for sure, the scarf redemption is only available in the East entrance while Lower Grandstand is at the West. So maybe you can try your luck on Sunday.

As for $188... nope. No goody bags. The bags are just sufficient for the Grandstand Balcony folks.
Goody bags will contain all the match merchandise plus the match-day booklet. In total, 7 items.

The open training will still be at the National Stadium on Friday evening, 7-8pm. Rest of the training will be at Jalan Besar.. but beware, security will be extremely tight.
