Many Vietnamese gals think that they sure get PR if they marry higher educated Singaporean man, but this may not be that true. I know of a few degree holders Singaporean man who are unable to get PR for their Vietnamese spouse due to unstable income. Sometimes, blue collar may be even more eligible than white collar.

totally agree. Note that unstable income may not mean low income but there are quite a number of white collars who job-hop regularly. To ICA, this is no good. They would rather prefer blue collar but stay in same workplace for many years.

true..i just applied mine for my wife but got rejected..

kind of expected cost she just finish only 1 year of her long-term..

and i just switch from white collar to blue collar job...
waiting for next mth to submit appeal..

I concured.

I always pre-empt my wife that PR now is not easy to get.
In fact donkeys years back in my 1st marriage I was a blue collar worker and thru 1st attempt that idoit PRC woman got her PR.
Now as a white collar worker, I dun even dare to think of 2nd attempt getting it.

Some folks have the misconception about blue and white collar worker. Unless one is in the higher management, they are almost the same, only different task.

The primary factors in getting a good chance of PR is that you as the husband must be STABLE in your job with achieving the minimal income requirement for at least a good 3 years with CPF. And don't owe any tax.

Brother, that is not true. I think either white collar or blue collar can have a "slave" mentality chained to same company. One must make the enterpreneurial leap. SG brother graduating with highest marks from NUS but slave at a MNC is still non alpha to me. Women put off by lack of ambition and entrepreneurual sense.
