Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
congratz to our mighty Reds! d results sure exceeded many of our expectations! juz when many thought d match was heading for an expected draw, Pool popped out with 2 late goals. Yes, Riera's goal was an absolute beauty while Ngog's finishing of d 3rd was cool.
Pool never fails to surprise n continue to frustrate d many punters out there, wk in wk out. juz when u least expect them to clear d -1.5 handicap, they did it in convincing fashion. strange thing is tt pool seemed to play better when they r in lesser pressure. but when they r under pressure n expected to win (messrs stoke, fullham, west ham) they failed to deliver d results. again, our dear old keane tried very hard but failed to score. hope he finds his mark again soon else next season he may hafta balek kampong bk to Spurs liao.

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Kinda strange or it is jinx....Keane struggling to get on the score sheet.
Crouchie had that too when he just arrived at the helm but he did find the net and score regularly... It may be a good idea to offload him back to Spurs and get a better striker. Heskey or Owen would be a good choice... Torres hamstring is a big suspect and may suffer the same fate as owen. |

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Quote:
yes, keane is struggling but he is working hard and tormenting defences, not to mention the beautiful pass he made to ngog which led to the frenchman's 1st goal for pool. crouchie is a different type of player. someone who holds the ball for the midfielders to join him in attack. crouchie was given time to blossom, why not keane??? bcos keane is part of a team that is seriously challenging for the premier league title... happy problem, i would say. keane is the kind of player that u dont see often. why heskey??? liverpool dont play that kind of footy anymore. the mifielders r now much closer to the attackers now, thus eliminating the need for crouchie or heskey. owen??? enough said about owen. he left when pool was undergoing a transition. i m actually glad he didnt make it in madrid. oh, and liverpool employs 2 wingers, with the fullbacks joining up in support actually suggests that we need a striker that can score regularly with his head. i m not gonna discuss owen's injury problems in recent years. only a fool would want him now. maybe u know something i dont, so do enlighten me why heskey or owen would be a good choice. |

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Personally I feel N'gog is a much more effective player than El Zhar...... just dunno why Rafa always prefer to play El Zhar

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
different purpose .... el zhar more to wide man, a winger that can open up opponent's defence when Liverpool attack stuck .... n'gog typical is a striker / target man CMIIW

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
yup....very frustrating indeed. The first two goals was doseena's fault but we created tons of chances after that and still can't win.Dirk kuyt was doing acrobatic moves instead of playing as a striker.

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
In the end we ran out of ideas. Did well in the first half to get back to even. We have a hardworking team but not good enough to play under pressure and win in the league. Still too reliant on Stevie and Torres.
