Clark is the name of the US Air Force Base that was formerly on the grounds of the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport, or now otherwise known as Clark International Airport (CRK).
Angeles City is the immediate urban area which the airport serves, which is in itself, divided into several subdivisions.
IMO AC is one of the best places for a solo cheongster (lone ranger) to visit. My first trip there ever was solo, approx. 6 years ago.
Hi .. Thanks for the info.. Some of my friends mentioned clark city as the place to go so I was under the impression it was a city. Well, I guess if I could find some pals to tag along with, id try out Angeles city.

I suggest that you tie up with, always helpful Brudder Datou, and others who will be in town during your proposed trip and stay in the same hotel as the others, as it helps co-ordination.
Angeles, more more specifically, Balibago, is, in my view, a even more easier place to manage than Phuket - just a 3km straight stretch where the action and amenities are; no language barrier issues; and the bar rules are consistent.
Check it out to see if it is to your taste...
but let me warn u that many of those who have visited will later suffer from PAB (post Angeles blues)

I have for long time been watching this space. There's a lot of valuable information which I gathered as well. Thanks so much. Even so, I am still contemplating on whether I should head down to Clarke.
Well, this is my first time to phillipines. As I read in the earlier posts, safety is an issue. I'm just wondering if anyone here is heading down on the 6th march so I can tag along. I really like to try Clarke city but I don't think heading down alone would be an easy feat. I have been to Phuket alone but Clarke must be a whole diff ball game.
There's a hotel called grand central hotel. Looks pretty decent and in the middle of the stretch in fields.. Is this a gd place to stay from ure experiences.

No offense caused. Just want to keep our people up to date on the problems that might happen to them as well as options. I also had the same thoughts as you wrote and I felt the money was too small to push the matter further.
Glad also that Clark Star Hotel has extended their promo offer to our SBF readers. I had to re negotiate cos the hotel had a change of manager. So, its still 20% off the listed rate and 1 free breakfast(in room or at restaurant). Free transfer to and from Clark airport.
Wifi routers are all up with subscriptions to PLDT and Smart which is very impressive on the hotels part. Only problems is that they hooked up the system wrongly and its screwed up. Only in the Philippines.
Can I unofficially set the tip for airport transfer to 50p/head or 100p a trip for the driver? Also occasional tip to the hotel staff of 20p will bring a smile. Bring some used clothes when you coming over to give to the hotel boy.

I'm a really easy going chap who likes good company and friendly banter . I would like to hang out with like minded brudders and probably experience something new.
