VISA and VISA RUNS are 2 different things. The nature of these 2 phrases being mentioned here are different.

Example, when you go Myanmar, do you need to apply for a VISA?

Why is there a need for people to do VISA RUNS?
ANS: Because the one month VISA approved by Myanmar Embassy has expired. Thus if the person wishes to stay in that country for a further period will have to pass by the customs, and then back again to the country via customs to get a chop on their passport stating that they have renew their visas. This process is called VISA RUNS.

Yr above analogy, I assume u mean SGP passports can get 1 month visa per application / entry into Myanmar? Which country's passport dunnit visa 2 go Myanmar?

SG passports go thailand dun need visa. We get 30days stay in thailand. Upon due date,we are liable to extend our stay by going immigration paying ard 2000baht for another months' stay.

Instead,bangkok offers a alternative to that. They offers coaches out of bangkok to borders of cambodia for a half day trip. That's how many japs and farangs been doing their visa runs for their stays. Cheaper in the sense that they need not travel to msia,SG for a few days trip then go back bangkok. Some does it though for a change of environment. It costs only 2000baht and half day trip.

But there are limitations to the visa runs nowadays.

Hope that clarifies on the visa runs. I always friendly to those who need help/explaination. I always unfriendly to those who come in just to chak people to make their day.

So it's cos these fellows not paying / din pay $$$ to get longer term visa, but instead "abuse" the system by playing around wif the 30-day-visa-free thingy.

Some pple do it tis way, so they oso assume others are in the same scenario & situation, do 30-day tourist visa runs. No wonder in the previous flames somebody say I am expat becos he ASSUME I hold SGP passport, dunnit visa 2 travel 2 many countries. Tat makes me tink & wonder, if so simple, then all SGP passport holders can be expats liao, why still doing all those visa runs?

As to the low self-esteem/inferior complex,they need to come in here to put people down,so that they feel "superior" mah. superior ki lan.

Tell u what SC,if u need to feel superior,i currently have a contact which i sadly got to know when i was in bkk in the earlier days. This guy is a pathetic guy. Who does not work in SG,eats bread and water everyday. I seen it in person.

But MISS calls me every single day on my thai hp and sms my SG hp no about how good and enjoying his life. Drive convertible,eat good food stay 5star hotel and have babes with him. Have million dollar contract/business and all that. His sms are amusing.

It's cheaper for them in tat way. And, when I join them, I'll be working for them & taking sides wif them, taking care of their "welfare" in projects which engage Consultants. So when the Consultants are not competent enuf / try 2 screw around, they'll sure get it from me! Tat'll kinda ensure tat they get good quality / standard Consultants, & keep these Consultants on their toes, bringing in more value for the company / end client!

U envy me? I have no fixed "home", I live mainly outta a suitcase of clothes (for all seasons / weather). I may travel at v short notice, ie, can receive a call from my clients / bosses, next moment, go grab air ticket & fly liaoz!!!

Not say din pay $$$ for longer term visa lah. I spoke to some of them before. Some of them have intentions to stay,but not sure how long. So they keep extending this way. Initially here,they have no intention to stay that long. But some do visaruns for almost 10years. That is not worth it of cos. Might as well get the 1year visa.

Reason why Jun did visa run was to put the relationship to hardships test so as to whether the girl will leave the guy cos he is "supposed" to be broke. No estimation of time how long it could have lasted.

Like SC thinks Jun been paying for the visa runs himself,then what's the point of the test when u can afford the 2000baht and claims broke? Some people just dun get it.

when u say u are broke,u must really be broke. Dun come 30days,suddenly pop 2000baht for visa. Idiot also wonder where u get the 2000baht timely for visa runs.
