Quick answer is NO.
AC is still the best place to be for those that want rounds and rounds of bonking. What makes AC attractive is that all the bonking you want is concentrated in a small area (actually entire area can be walked during the day but avoid that thought at night). Just don't let the runner issue scare all you guys away, it is a growing nuisance but just remember the vast majority of girls are NOT runners (yet).
I do not claim to be expert for Cebu having only been there once. But from what I remember, places here are all scattered from uptown all the way downtown.

Just like PhantomT like to say, well, these are just my thoughts on this.

2) Today the overall feeling in PI has become more a moral issue and many in the gov't had been willing to sacrifice a big cut in underhanded bribes and let many establishments and bars close down. Mayor Lim and what he did to Manila is a good example. Cheonging paradise one day and cheonging wasteland today. For those that have been to AC long enough, some will already notice that is happening here too.

3) The US will almost certainly mandate with all the millions or billions $ given to PI gov't that there will crackdowns and suppression of sex outlets to maintain a higher moral outlook for a good impression for the housewifes watching or hearing of PI news at home in the US. Washington don't want to hear from all the angry housewives or liberal women about how their taxes are promoting brothels.

4) Even today, the US gov't and all the funding from NCO Christian groups and other toody-good doers with all their billions in grants and loans to foreign gov'ts have resulted in the way those gov't have treated their own sex outlets. It like if you want our money then you have to do things MY WAY.

Brief history: For those unfamilar with me, I use to be a long time cheongster in Cambodia at the same time I was frequently going to AC so I do have something to compare with. I started there over 10 years ago and believe me that there were locations in Cambo that rivals AC in the good old days. Only difference was that everything in Cambo was much much cheaper. We are talking about taking out a gal LT for $3 to 5 US dollars(I will use the US currency as that is "almost " official currency used in Cambo). and no such thing as LDs or BFs or even tipping. Starting about 5 years ago, as the money starting pouring into Cambo for humanitary aid the US gov't started putting in more demands and slowly each year the bars and brothels started closing with more and more raids and crackdowns (see the trend?)

Today Cambo has become a ghosttown for sex and many sites have gone underground with only the locals knowing where and since it has now become more "secret", guess what, the price for those secret locations have skyrocketed for a crappy sex experience. That's the reasons I no longer visit Cambo anymore.

So, although the US "may" one again set up shop in PI., sadly it will never be like it was before and with the failing US economy and US military spending to be cut in half and the very fact that the US military was almost deported out of PI over 15 yrs ago, I truly doubt the US will be stupid enough to invest and spend all that money to once again establish a huge 1st class modern permanent base just so that the PI gov't can come in and take it over later when the political atmosphere changes again. Setting up a Military outpost will be more like it.

Sorry for the long thoughts on this matter.

Cheers

PT

Damn Dude,

You sure u don't work for the gov't in secret
Like others have said, Very good insight and damn good analysis on the political climate between the 2 countries.

Only reason why prices are so good for cheonging is because AC is in middle of no-where and it is a crappy place to live (well- shitty place is a more accurate term) and having nothing around has helped keep prices low.

Now, with more and more investments and better living conditions and better jobs offering much higher wages in the area and all that property going sky high, then only 2 things can happen:

1) All the land that the current bars on Fields and Perimeter become more valuable, they will be bought out and converted to high end offices and high end housing to house all those with more money with better jobs in the area.

2) If the bars remain, then the end of low cheonging prices as they have to raise their rates to keep up with the high housing market rates.

Again, just my thoughts

PT
Sadly bro as I read what you have written, I do have to agree with all that is said by u. I do not want this to be the future of AC as I selfishly try to hang on to the AC I love but the progress of urban renewal is just to strong of a force to ignore.
Yes, AC will change. It will be a much better place for the general public as quality of life goes up but lousy place for sex as venues goes down.

OK,
Let me start by pointing out the main difference between the 2 places (from a cheongsters perspective of course).

From what I remember about Cebu (1st and last visit was about 3 yrs ago) and what PhantomT had said about it, Cebu bars and outlets are not many when compare to AC. More scatter about and there are no real "Megabars" with over 100 girls in one place alone. It's more like all the girls in over 10 bars in one neighborhood in Cebu combine to just fill one Megabar in AC. So the reason Cebu is not a "hot" destination is mainly because of the total numbers involved is not that great.
Also, from what I remember about Cebu--the traffic really sucks.

Cheers

As others have already pointed out, u should do just fine. U maybe a newbie to AC but a seasoned cheongster overall so u already "know" the in and outs of the game. Also, your instincts are already there so always trust your gut feelings about what is going on and u are set to go.

Dun worry about disappointments as even the best days will sometimes encounter them. Its just that shit will happen no matter what we do or how prepare we are.
Also, dun feel that having plenty of SML will set the mood with the pinays. They are generally willing to please without the SML. If you do pick up a pinay that require too many SMLs (or LDs) to loosen up to u, then please, please trust your instincts and dump her and move on as she is trying to just get more LDs out of u.

Have fun and wish I could be there to join u.

Cheers

You got PM LLSC!
Did a virgin trip to Cebu solo in 2010. Here's my report from that trip, which I posted on another board. There is absolutely no issue with doing Cebu solo.

Cebu Sept. 2010 Trip Summary and Observations

1. Mall pickups - Higher hit rate if youre a caucasian male or look typically Korean or Japanese. I suppose that applies to most of you reading this. The pinays tend to avoid anyone who looks remotely pinoy, likely for fear of undercover cops. As a mid-late 30s Singaporean Chinese, I probably look Chinito from suburban Makati and potentially like Authority, so I had zero success rate in Cebu. Only exception I have found is Robinsons Ermita in MNL, but then again I got hit on only by a bakla or two. (!)

2. Cebu Airport taxi situation has changed. Head across the driveway out front of the Arrivals area, go up the stairs to the metered taxi line adjacent to the entrance to Departures. Drivers are required to put on the meter. Airport to Marriot should be around PHP 150 (USD3+change). Just my opinion, but the poor taxi khuyas certainly deserve a tip if they render a polite and efficient service to you without trying any monkey business. I am expatriate in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where the taxi fare from the airport to District 1 is about USD 6 (about VND 120,000) on the meter, and I thought it couldnt get any cheaper!

3. Mango Ave bars - Sure, I only have a sample size of 3, but from what I have observed, mamasans and bargirls overwhelmingly favour the Korean and Japanese clientele, more so here than at EDSA in MNL. Likely for their spending habits and low maintenance. They have their own forums like this one and live in their own worlds, so I doubt many would be reading this, but don't they say, 5-5-5? (that's 5 inches, 5 minutes, 5000 pesos) or was it 3-3-3?

4. Jaguar and Arena - Since I didnt make it out to Jaguar (only Arena) and for the sake of argument, I'll assume they are both 'in the same league' and therefore similar. There's way too much hype on here and on another website or two about these bars. The same preference of mamasans and bargirls was observed (I derive this from their indifference to me even though I'm a paying customer just like anyone else). At Arena, once a girl sits down with you, you will be told politely that it is 'company policy' that you order a LD @ PHP 600 for the girl, and that it is also 'company policy' that for the 1st LD you order, you are also required to buy the mamasan an LD @ PHP 600. Ergo, you will be out PHP 1200 (about USD25) at the get go. You have been warned. This must be the only place in the PI where a damn pussy drink is more expensive than in my own country.

5. Mermaid Bar - I had rather good expectations for this place from what I read on this board and elsewhere on the net, only to be disappointed overall due in large part by a persistently thirsty and hungry bargirl. If anything the route out to Mactan from Cebu City is crap. There is construction at one or two major intersections along this route now, and they seem to be working late into the night, if not 24 hours.

6. As I did on my previous visit to the PI, I sent out messages on a social networking site (not a dating site like DIA or FH). Got a much lower hit rate for Cebu than I did for Manila on the previous visit. But then again, I dont have much time to waste on these sites, nor do I really care.

7. A word on the Marriot - you really cant beat the location and the quality vs. price quotient. You might be put off by their security, but after all it's for your safety and they are girl-friendly by this board's definition (no joiner fee, no interaction/conversation with your date). Just that security is tight, and I counted 2 at driveway entrance, 6 or 7 at the door/x-ray machine = 8-9 security personnel (mostly male, 1 female) in total when you return with your catch-of-the-night, so it can be intimidating. She has to sign in with your room number on a log-register placed conveniently at the front desk but this will be while you stand around looking like a happy fool in full view of the 6 or 7 afore-mentioned security personnel. I entertained the thought of switching to the Parklane to avoid this scene altogether, but in the end decided against foregoing the comfort, quality and convenience of the Marriot just to save a few bucks.

Bro The Lord, did you know the Republic of the Philippines comprises 7107 islands?

If you discover one island a day, it would take nearly 20 years to discover the entire country.

Don't think the novelty of the Philippines could ever wear off.

I stayed at the Marriott last trip in Oct 2011. Awesome hotel and I pay nothing because I use my rewards point to redeem this room. Good room and free internet. Next to Ayala Mall and bringing a girl back is damn easy when mention you stayed at the Marriott. Most locals won't be able to stay in this sort of hotel. Security is damn tight and safe. No problem bring girl back at all.

Even if you pay with your own money, the cost of the room is still cheaper than those 5 star hotel in Manila. I think around $120++

We will sure meet up someday, unless u don't visit AC. My schedules all stated.
