Looks like you n friends kenna chop quite jialat. Your friend very generous give 500p for filling forms. The shampoo if not expensive maybe can just throw away instead of givin somemore pesos to them. But u did hv a good time in AC, maybe just take it give CNY Ang Pow ,as lesson learnt n u will be well prepared next time. My last AC trip they tell me my AA rechargeable batteries cannot bring , I told them my net book also has a rechargeable battery. They nothin to say n let me through. Lucky they never confiscate my netbook. But it's true that in general, guidelines are rechargeable batteries cannot be air freight n can only go by land or ship route. But maybe because of low quantities I never had a problem w flights. At waiting area toilet urinal an officer greet me hi sir, I say hi in return n took off like Road Runner..hahaha. Try not give them a chance to fleece u by minimal contact. Last edited by datou; 29-01-2012 at 10:33 AM. |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
Thk u for ur detailed FR. Im not adminishing you but just my two pesos worth below...
Appreciate ur detailed reporting of experiences .....Peso < 10,000 and foreign curreny < US$ 10,000 if u wish to spend more, u can use atm/debit/credit cards .....wen the customs offer help, be polite but dun take. On my last trip one of the security guys saw me n smiled. He called me over thrice to use his table to fill up the card. But i decided il have none of that. Id rather stand up n right using my pp as hardboard surface. ....as bro datou rightly pointed out ur friend was very generous. He cld hv written d form himself .... Yes lighters/ liquids greater than 100 ml in all will be confiscated. An ang mohs golf balls were confiscated wen i was at d security clearance. .... Lighters shd go into check in... So shd liquids tht dun follow international air travel norms .... Most of us travel often.. We are familiar with air travel rules. We must follow them strictly ..... On one occassion only i was asked to open my wallet by a sneaky official. He opened every part of it and said ah peso, ah dollar.. I replied yes peso yes dollar with an ignorant blur face. He returned it to me and said i can leave.. ...... Last part was sad... If at the last security check, you hv things that cant be carried on as part of hand baggage they will only confiscate it. THEY WILL NOT FINE YOUunless they find that you have voilated local laws/customslaws etc. they cant fine you for shampoo. They din fine the ang moh for golf balls Moral of the story .... Know international air travel rules well .... Know local rules too .... At clarke airport they have a big board with list of items that cant be carried on as hand baggage. Check them in. This board is at the primary security clearance .....PI being what it is... Ppl will look for ways to mk money. There r scams everywhere. Like my friend who paid php 2000 for 4 viagra tabs by the road ... If u gv dem d indication tht u can be chopped like a carrot they will chop you. Your body language says a lot Quote:

He and his wife, his wanted to buy a property in Bacolod .. and scout a 10 acre property The husband told the wife to make it 5 acre, because 10 acre means rich (in his thinking .. ) until .. he told me.. I told him "1 acre or 10 acre or 100 acre .. you forgot the basics: in Philippines, FOREIGNERS ARE RICH , or so they will insist and swear that you are a liar if you say you are not rich .. " Makes sense ?? Try to fly low key always. Don't give them excuse to 'tax' you or 'fine' you .. Of course, first time is ok, second time.. don't .. Like me, first time in Manila, T1, I ended up paying tax for a used hi-fi set (it was a 5 speakers system) I was donating to a community center in Guisad .. didn't help that it was in it's original box, even though used, and the cusoms officer lady told me "next time, try not to pack in original box, or else, if we let go, other filipino will complain we are showing favoritism .. " Next time I took a used grill, and when asked, I challenge the fellow to show me where used grill is dutiable, and worst case, I said leave it in your bonded warehouse, I will pick it up next time" and the case closed .. Oh, nowadays, I found cheaper to LBC stuff like that than get into hassle ..

I told them i hv never had problem at all other airport n ask them laptop also got rechargeable battery right? They say nothin let me through w my batteries. Actually i ever asked at Changi airport regarding bringing batteries n answer is computers r ok but no to liquid filled batteries think they mean lead acid type like car batteries. for AA batteries, think it's ok for limited quantities. need them for cameras, shavers. but try to put them inside the gadgets inside of carrying them loosely. |

No, certainly not yaya or anything, just looking for a good time... in any case, apologies if it came out the wrong way. Your inputs have made me realise that perhaps it's time to change my thinking about AC, as a whole. Instead of just a glorified whore house, AC does hold more treasure than that. I like the fact that AC is not like Manila, not yet anyway. It's quite liveable , away from Fields and beyond. Seems the further one stays from the entertainment district, the better the place becomes. Just my opinion. Accommodation-wise, just wanted to try out Lewis Grand once, and see how it is. Keep my fingers crossed. Let's see how good the pool is! I'm a regular at ABC, but don't know for how long. Aware that things can change. This time, they are giving me incentive to stay there, so took it up. But, we'll see how it goes. Oh yes, will be staying at New Millennium wing too! Anyway, have fun guys! Keen to meet up with fellow Singaporeans if there're interested parties. Cheers! |

Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips
No whack you lah. You bend down and of cos i do the necessary. Quick and prompt service.
Finally got out of my room and ate my favorite steamed fried rice at Robinson Cebu. Only 46p and had so much meat and prawns. Real value for money. Now looking for my filipino fruit salad. One price for the fruit salad. So i pick the expensive items like grapes and more cream. Then i buy cut fruits separately. I pick and they cut for me. Cheap Charlie Tip #58.
