Issue with ICA

my friend has approached and appealed many times with ICA about visa extension for his then thai girlfriend now wife. ICA at that time not yet married, kept giving him the same reply. Not legally related, i.e. spouse or family relation, they can't do anything for you. you will just be wasting your time. she will have to get the company to do something.

No use de... the reply still standard.... bcos upon appeal.. it still route to the same team to do.. worst.. same person.

My gf went back in Apr and when she try to enter via Changi T3... kanna denied entry.. she cried for 1 full day...


Anyway.. it took me one month to appeal for her re-entry.. only to find out that unless you are gazatted across the customs.. or else you can still try to enter via other checkpoints...(as claimed by some VB gals to her).

She's here now.

Yup, going down to appeal tomorrow. Just abit gan cheong that by the time everything gets approved, the job is taken by someone else.

Why tell people NO use when you yourself appeal for ur g/f ....

Anyway u take 1 mth to appeal ... So it means it's possible !

System is link throughout all immigration n customs if u are not aware ...

Go down personally is better than writing in.

Anyway ... Unless she is banned ! Else u can ask her to just come in ... Write the period of stay only a few days n show the officer the official email for the interview. Ask the company to write an official letter to state that she is in for interview n indicate the the contact personal.

As u are not legally related to her. It's very difficult to represent her. Probably u can put a hotel address instead of your address....

Put purpose here as business ...

I'm abit confused here. Although mrRhodes is sincere enough to state "interview" as a reason for her visit. But does ICA actually grant a entry visa knowing that her intention is to seek employment?

I'm thinking whether this might screw things up. Anyway ICA tends to change things here and there, they might allow her as an exception after a close door interview.

On the other hand, If the cmpy has the intention to employ her, her agency should have arranged to apply WP or S pass for her thru' MOM.

Yup, was thinking that its cos she came here recently barely a month and it coming back again.

Haha, well I can't think of anything better to put, thought of putting a business visa (as I run my own company), but then I am not hiring her, so not sure of the consequences and decided not to risk it la.

Its the agency who is holding the interview on behalf of various companies. Apparently according to the agent, quite a number of PRCs do that, they fly here on a tourist visa, stay 1 month and go for as many interviews as the company can arrange for them and hope they land a job. Of course once the job is confirmed, the company will then convert the tourist visa to WP.

Anyway, went down for the interview liao. Brought the E-Mail from the agency and various documents; photocopy of IC, passport, even resume and passed them to the officer. So Let's see how it goes.

BTW Bro ShySaint any reason why I should put hotel address instead of my home address? Thought it would be easier as I haven't gotten a place to rent for her yet (will only do so when visa application goes through).

Yo maybe there's some misunderstanding denied base on eligibility and prohibited.

Denied entry based on eligibility is only at the point and its not a gazatted action. It only mean you fail to satisfy their requirement at point of entry and the bar period is unknown (maybe 2 months later)

Prohibited means you are on blacklist and its a gazatte action and across the checkpoint.

ICA: You are to seek appeal for both cases.

Some ladies(ineligibility): Tried coming from Woodlands checkpoints or flight after 2-3months and came in.

The obvious reason, will be why she is not staying with u if you are her local sponsor. And for some reason if you can't accommodate her, then you should made a pre-arrangement to book a reasonable class hotel not nearing to those red light district. And not settle down first and start searching for it.

To have strong reasoning that she is here on official trip for interview. N not visiting friends or see bf.

If u show letter of her interview n stay at ur place n stays up to one mth, it's only shows her creditabity.

I got a question to ask if a ktv ger (prc) is waiting for her Work Permit (Performing Artiste), than halfway her agent MIA. So now she no work permit only got white card, how long can she stay in sg? If during this period she kena caught what the worst case for her?

Sry to ask such noobie question but i was asked this question by a ktv ger. She ask mi to check mom website for her but i lazy to read so thought of asking here.

Hi bro, thanks for the advice. Yup, showed the officer the email from the agency and got her a place near mine so I think I can only hope for the best now.
