This is just me. This country pride himself for coming out clean. We talk about saving the environment and what is not. We also talk about the truth till certain extents. Be brave everybody.

Speak up tell the employers you had pay your dues, serve your sentences so to write it down. He may respect you and offer you the job because even if you lie. There are not many ways he or company could dick out the shits.

Back into the 90s I had one such person who came for interview. Actually I was afraid but the boss at that time. He told me he respect him because he is honest he did not lie. Off the records after 15 years or so. Mine ex colleague did not serve his NS he told the true because he did not have much choices.

maybe now can't after the new licensing required for agents.....but i know of an ex fb who has been in prison for a very short stint but working as housing agent? but perhaps now cannot renew her license le....but no longer in contact with her...

Bro, how come i can go in jurong island and airpot cargo? psa port i also can go ah (only with my freightforwarders lah), den i do fren's part time, can go in till up ship?

Edited: my malay "general worker" also can go in jurong island when i sent him? he jus come out like 6months i tink.

1 is registrable offence, another is not....
during go in time, with tattoo ppl will be asked to go into a room, to show & explain why got that tattoo, what does it meaning blah blah..during tat time, can find out...if not is after the person come out, can ask the IO or whomever attending to the case.

Recently got one case our dear Straits Times dig out a rather old case about conviction because of sham marriage. Even this guy's employer came out and complained about Straits Times for digging up old wounds and not giving his employee a chance.

Even our government controlled media do this kind of thing. Says a lot about whether they are sincere about the Yellow Ribbon bullshit.

i will be going prison soon as well. This friday is my final sentence, hope i get lighter one. No need to go in too long too.

I know someone sentenced to 4 months but was put on home detention after 3 wks+... but this was more than 5 years ago.

Interesting thread. I have a friend who worked for loan shark, went spraying paint and was caught. He kena rotan and was out after mths and served his remaining mths working, delivering bottles of water to offices. He complaint to me, si beh siong... some offices no elevator but at least he got to stay outside instead of cell.

Wow, that was lucky. During my time in 2010, for Loan Shark Activities, no need to think of tagging and work for short sentences or even Long Sentences. Is it recently?

1) Never be a hero inside.
2) Keep a low profile.
3) Never be a busybody.
4) Follow the rules in prison.
5) Keep your time occupied by exercising.
6) Be street smart.
7) Know who can be friends and who cannot including the prison guard.
8) Stay out of trouble.

Not recent, think about 5 years ago, definitely before 2010.

If I don't remember wrongly, for those who committed Loan Shark related Activities, since mid 2009, there isn't any more tagging for those prisoners. Until today, I believe that it is still the same. Last year Sept, my friend was released from prison say that no tagging for loan Shark related activities.

This I dunno, he even mentioned the boss wanted him to continue with his work after he finished his sentence but he rejected it cause the pay was very low and very tiring. He mentioned, carrying 10 big bottles of water up 1 or 2 storey of stairs were no joke.
