When the couple wishes to get marry, the male went to meet the wife-to-be parents to talk about their marriages.

Yes you want to marry my daughter, you must do the following at least:

a) Provide us 10 wedding tables (100 guests) at your own cost. Any gifts or ang pow belongs to the bride's parents.
b) A $2k red packet to the bride's mother for looking after her all these years
c) many miscellaneous items too

I recalled when he informed, the a) to c) cost close to $16K

At that time, they spent $50K renovating the new BTO flat before marriage.

What about his own and parents expenses for the marriage ?

Total wedding cost him about $30K after deducting the ang pows and gifts he received.

The wife-to-be wanted a honeymoon holidays which cost another $10K

Well no honey no marriage. After the marriage, his spouse still give pocket moneys to her parents.
