Hi Boss,

Why zapped me and say that my post here is off topic. Some bros here were lamenting bout bad times and unemployment. I was merely consoling them by suggesting that if they cant find employment they should spend their time learning to improve themselves. But is so wrong with that?

Hi bro....don't get too sad or angry with this "sicko". Just take it that there are always some "smart alexs" out there who think too highly of themselves.
One day...their turn will come and they won't be acting so smart then.

I always believe in karma...do good then get good karma! if cannot help then don't do anything to "belittle/sado/trouble" others.

Meantime....network around. Frankly....the market is super bad. I have never see anything that bad during my past. My job...is also on the line and I kept super low profile at work and here too.

Don't be disheartened. Since your name is 'just want to do it', I will tell u my story of survival, hopefully giving u some lift in your spirit.

Many years ago, when I was in my late thirties, I wanted to return to the work force after a failed business venture (cheated by partner).
I wrote many letters of application for a job but there were no replies.
I suspected it was the problem of age and to confirm it I left out my age in future applications ........True enough I received several letters asking me to go for interviews .........

Continued ....Part 2

During the interviews the interviewers were apparently quite satisfied with my qualifications and job experience .........to the extent that remunerations etc were discussed in details. However, they finally noticed that my age was not mentioned .....and on revealing my age, their faces turned black and the interviews were abrubtly cut short. I was told to leave and wait for their reply. The replies finally came, but needless to say ......in the negative.

My failure in searching for a job lasted a few years and ........I used up my reserve .........had to sell everything that can fetch some money..........then nothing to sell.........begged and borrowed......many times unsuccessfully ........the only success is in getting humiliations.

What followed was reminders for overdue payments .......then utilities suppy cut off, telephone line terminated ..........then fines and finally summons to courts for failure to make payments .........

Meanwhile I had a wife and children to feed. Made me regretted having got married and have children. .... Siow liao ..........nearly got mad

One day I decided to become a taxi driver and wanted to used the last few hunderd dollars to take up the taxi driver course but damn suay.........Just before I took out the money, Income Tax Dept froze my account and took away the money. F@#%

Finally, I awakened to the reality and cruelty of life .........Lower my expectations and answered an advertisement for the post of night auditor in a hotel. When I approached the counter gal and made known my intention, she told me squarely that 'We are looking for a younger person'. WTF@#*!

Lower my expections even further, took up jobs as driver, delivery man, cleaner, hawer assitant, and even quah chwee (look-out for illegal hawkers)
....Sebei charmp ..........but at least earn some money to pass time....

After suffering for some years finally chanced upon a more decent job that only requiring the pen (of course hand also need to hold the pen lah) but with much much lower pay.

The above is a true account of my past. Not a made-up story. Bros who dont believe pl dont zap me left and right again hor. I only come out to post hopefully to give some encouragement to bros who are in the same plight. After this I will go into hiding again.
