"...even after i allowed her to manage my entire salary..." As a presumably gainfully employed citizen, you do well to trust another person to manage your entire income, but, events/things always inevitably change from time to time, good times included.
Financial independence/security in the form of having ready $$$ at your free disposal is the best preparation/defence against any unfortunate happenings... Nowadays, we cannot be 100% sure that we can depend on our descendants or close ones to support us when we get old, weak and no longer working...
Continue with your happy life... but just be prepared...
