If I am not wrong and memory is still OK...... the year was 1993 and the hotel was Chao Phraya Hotel.... it was uspposed to be a 4 or 5 storey hotel... then there was an illegal add on of another few story to make it 10 storey, and also have a huge water tank above.... it seems the water tank was the final cause of the structure giving way...... beside having a disco that goes full house almost everynight and all the bonkings:.......
Lucky only one hotel guest died, and American Airforce chap... he really bad luck, left hotel in the morning and return to collect some stuff.... and it happened in the mid morning.... the number of Thai died wasn't sure....
