He's a young vietnamese man.dunno if he still doing this but i think he is.. i think his chrge was $400 or something like that but i dunno the rates now... he needs to be there for two times (in my case), 1st time is to submit the application, your viet partner needs to understand what she is getting herself into.....then of course the day of ROM..

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
Hi bros,
Pertaining to the need of a translator during solemnisation, is a translator needed for spoken words or written words, or both? Paiseh forgotton about the solemnisation process already. My gal can understand spoken English and Mandarin and only written English, but not written Mandarin words.

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
For the past few years, i have received several requests from fellow samsters to help them look for job and settle in HCM City as expat. There are a few points that i wish to point out based on my interaction with sporean based there.
(1) Do not expect to be highly paid when you are posted to Vietnam as expat. Of course, if you belong to top management, then its a different story. Most of the time, if the company in Singapore recruits Singaporean to be based in Vietnam, the renumeration package is mostly the same or lower than singapore. This has been the norm for the past many years till now. So if there's any normal singaporean who's based there and tells you he highly paid , there's a 99% chance that its total bullshit. (unless he's top management). (2) If you wish to go Vietnam to look for a job, expect your renumeration to be even lower. A Vietnamese graduate who speaks good english and works for foreign companies can expect to be paid up to US$600 a month. If he/she is lucky, US$800 a month may be possible. For a local, that salary is actually very good. But for a singaporean based there, the salary may not be enuff for him to survive after deducting away accommodation etc. So don't move there because of love, make yr love move to singapore because to you. |

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
Just listing some info to share (for discussion too), on settling down with Vn-bx:
- need to buy 5-golds for your ger (dunno Vn gold similar to Sg gold) - choose wedding rings way ahead - must take wedding pixs way ahead before big day - wedding makan normally in the afternoon (so distance relatives can come in time & return home) - give angpow ? (dunno leh) - stay overnight at in-law's home Just listing, while still on guard-duty at the SG-trench with my rifle ready...unused for the last 7 months. Got to last even longer...although there may be short assignments here, there... Lance-corp Chany signed out. |

I see the package..almost same singapore and I did my research and ask a few of my friends who were there... most of them ask me not to expect too much cause in Viet, they can get someone more younger, more highly educated and cheaper guy and at least another 5 to 6 pple with my current salary in Viet... sian. The only happy thing is that... I can bonk different viet gers instead of going JC. |
