Will be hitting 50 in a few years, but now I am experiencing something different.

Flesh is willing but spirit is weak.

I get erections and do feel like screwing, but just not interested in the forms available outside, whereas before, maybe 10 years ago I would be more optimistic.
So I just diy it away, daily, sometimes twice.

Anyone else also this way ?

In general, I do not think supplements really help.

Think about it, we do not have problems with nutrition in our youth. And our diet normally do not change dramatically suddenly. Thus, I posit that our typical diet have sufficient nutrition for the body's needs.

Therefore the problem is not nutrition. Rather, absent some hormonal stimulus, it is your body's conclusion that it no longer needs the the muscle/bone mass that you previously needed. Thus the body actively dismantle your muscle & bones. Taking in more ingredients won't help, rather it will make the kidneys & liver work harder to get rid of the excess.

We all agree that exercising your muscles will trigger the body to build them up. Likewise, exercising your bones (loading them via weight lifting or hiking) will build them up. I suppose the same goes for you kkj!

FWIW, I had a new friend who was diagnosed with osteopenia (pre-osteoporosis) score of -2.3. After 1 year of hiking with my group, he recently tested out at -0.4 (aka normal!).


So, my philosophy is to live an active life, use all those important parts and they will stay in good condition longer.

This is indeed true. Generally that's all that we can do. Of course some protein supplements help, but don't need a mega-dosage like that from protein powders. We are not going to body-build. Eggs and milk intake already plenty.

Once in the 40s and 50s, if your kidneys are okay, no diabetes, no hypertension, no high bp, no gout, consider in quite good shape already. Regular active exercise helps to achieve all these.

We need more protein as we age. More protein than youngsters need. This website is by MOH. Nothing too fancy, just a daily scoop of protein powder (5 g) stirred into out normal drinks.

Without enough protein, we lose muscle mass. Without enough muscle to support out body frame, skeletal issues arise. Knee pain, feel like vein pulling on muscle, pinched nerve, hunched spine.

There are elderly patients who are tube fed via the nose. Their daily diet consists of milk with protein powder (myotein) stirred in. At about 15-20 grams of protein powder per day, these elderly patients do not lose body weight or muscle mass. Of course many will say regular exercise can slow down muscle loss but how many of us here exercise sufficiently or exercise correctly to reduce the muscle loss problem?

My conclusion is there is no shortcuts (aka magic pill) for normal folks.

All I can say for myself is my weight went up from 60 to 70kg after I started a more active lifestyle in 2012 and have stayed around 70+/-2 for the past 12 years...

That's quite jialat.
Find some hobbies that need you to go outdoor, if you chance upon someone nice, then let the magic and chemistry work themselves. Otherwise, at least you have hobbies that you enjoy.
PCC and DIY ain't the same as real sex, after that, just feel pathetic yet when the urge to relieve, will do it again.

I think maybe, I cannot be sure.
Before, will just paid sex and move on, but now, paid sex is more landmines and not satisfying, leaves me wanting more.
So I just skip paid sex.

Testosterone is not unique to humans. The sex hormone is 500 million years old and is found in just every vertebrate (reptiles, amphibians, mammals and birds). It masculinizes species, and that is why men have 20 times more testosterone than women. In humans, this means more muscle mass, broader facial feature, wide shoulders and a deeper voice.

Men who are born with low levels of testosterone have more feminine features, and women with higher levels tend to be more masculine. High testosterone is tightly correlated with many desirable traits, such as a strong sex drive, endless energy, a sharp, sound mind and aggressiveness, that make taking on the challenges of day-to-day life more pleasurable.

General speaking after the age of 30, men lose about one percent of the hormone per year. Many believe this is natural and easily explained by an evolutionary mechanism. As his sex hormone drops, his enthusiasm for such risk-taking pursuits as debaucheries and escapades wanes.

Nature designed men to slow down as they get older. Some like to say this is condition previously known as aging. At the ages of 40, 65 and 70 most guys will have lower levels of the hormone that their fathers had at the same age.
