lol yes!
I bet most 'old birds' who stayed in Queenstown remand will know the famous "Bayi" doctor.
Every freaking sickness he prescribe paracetemol (panadol). He check inmates using the stethosscope, without them in his ear but hanging on his neck. Like that listen to shit ah.. knn.
The doctors inside prison are generally fu*ked up. They are there because they are assigned to, not because they are willing to.

Talking MOE recruitment ads

Last eve b4 930pm news, captured the teachers recruitment ads, the beginning i thought is another national council for gambling. No is for Teach, a good story they have. This is my version, feel free to have yours.

The year was 1997, b4 the IRs, a boy probably in Secondary school. His parents was in the stage of breakup. I saw the O$P$ scene, the parents shouting at each other. He failed his exams, his teacher a pretty lady did not give up on him.

A good shot of the boy walked towards his classroom, a girl probably his sweet heart looked at him. He left school and, wasted his time with gang.

Next, he was selling pte VCDs, got arrested during a raid. His teacher saw him at lockup, she did not give up. A scene of him and his teacher family having a meal. Touching if more teachers cared, consider this gen all contracted. Good ads, we know is not real.

Fast forward, 10yrs later he completed his education, a good looking man again he returned to his former school. Walked the same path, saw his former teacher. She had aged, still pretty in my book, they both shared the passion to reform to teach.

Never give up, everybody should b given another shot in life.

spent 2 hrs reading through the whole thread, and its 2 hrs well spent.
to all the bros who are out, jiayou! enjoy your freedom

i kind of disagree that the yellow ribbon is a failure, i mean its not a complete success thats for sure, but to change the mindset of a whole society, will need a lot of time.

Not trying to offend any bros here, but ask yourself, if all other things being the same, as a boss who will you choose, an ex-con or one that is clean?

Hey
Stop being a goody goody guy. No one is infallable or without sin....and for your info, this society is neither clean. so stop being judgemental. Those who fall and pick themselves up should be commended for their effort and those who are struggling to pick themselves up......help and encouragement should be the way to go.....and not condemning instead.Hope that you would not be that one day he may run foul of the law and face the brunt and hard reality of life.

Makes no difference to me whether my potential employee is "clean" or not.
I don't penalise ex-offenders.

I hire base on a person's track record and willingness to learn. Nothing beats a person with the right working attitude which is very difficult to come by nowadays.

Additional to what u wrote, if this country underworld has the brutality of TW Ma Sa, i think the next day tons of military and Law people will tender their resignations.

Still i am not too sure, maybe TW underworld can do better jobs then the authority? Different systems.

hmm to those who replied to my qn, i agree totally with you,
but the qn is if EVERYTHING else is the same, which includes track record, willingness to learn etc etc
i just know that alot of people aren't as forgiving in the real world, my uncle had such a hard time finding a job after being released from jail that he was jobless for a few years...

Thumbs up Re: 164 Days in Singapore Changi Prison

After reading the thread from start to finish, I have doubts about joining the Yellow Ribbon Run this year since most bros say that it is rubbish. If our gahmen do not lead by example, who will? I will also remember never to be a guarantor for any of my friends.

I must say that some bros here like FireShark really deserves our respect and they should be given a second chance.

One of my former companies I worked for used to employ inmates to work for them. I pitied them when I heard of their stories.

I will do well to keep in mind of giving a job applicant who has criminal records a chance for the job if I become a boss in future. But the thing is, how do we know whether that person has learned from his past and is already a changed man?

I think one of the bro mentioned in one of his post that his company hired an ex convict but he was lazy and did not turn up for work regularly. Also many bros here mentioned that there are "regulars" of the prison who goes in and out like having a vacation. I think such event can be summed up as "heng-suay" if I was an employer.

Point is, everybody deserves a second chance. However it must be a 2 way commitment. You must also treasure your second chance seriously and not let anybody down ever again.
