I don't expect Mane or Salah to be back after the AFCON so soon, therefore I would expect Luis Diaz to start in the upcoming game against Cardiff City.

Diaz on the left, Jota in the center and Minamino on the right.

Oh well since that did not happen, I am happy for them to do well for their national teams provided they return to Anfield fit and on form.

Interestingly I gather Senegal also play Egypt in the WC playoffs. Just hope not much sourness is brought back to Anfield by whoever loses.

Back to Afcon, from what I have read and the highlights I have seen, the quality of play and referring has been generally mediocre to poor. Senegal look to be favourites as the Egypt team generally seems to be average. Then again who knows, may be Mo might turn on his magic in the Final?

As for the Leicester match, I would be surprised if Klopp even puts them on the bench. Think it is too soon after a full tournament and all that travelling. Best to give them some well needed rest so they can start fresh in the Inter first leg knock out CL game in Milan.

Oops just realised we have a game at Burnley first before going to Milan for the Inter tie! So guess they should return for the Burnley match.

Don't think that is Klopp's style. He might make the bench at best for the Cardiff match and even that would be stretch unless Diaz has had a few proper training sessions.

They way I see it, Diaz will get a rest just like our Brazilian guys who have all been in S America for the recent WC qualifiers. They shall probably only start training sessions next week for the Leicester match.

That is what you get when you put a major tournament in the middle of the season. We start the year 2022 hoping our players come back early from AFCON. We will end the year 2022 hoping our players come back early from the World Cup.

Robertson also played a game when he first joined us. He was then given a few months to learn how we play. Moreno was able to keep Robertson away for 2-3 months then.

Robertson also played a game when he first joined us. He was then given a few months to learn how we play. Moreno was able to keep Robertson away for 2-3 months then.

thank god Moreno was injured and the Robertson came in and became the best left back we have seen in recent years.

Saw Klopp's pre match presser for tonight's Cardiff match and seems like Jurgen just might do what you said.

Looks like this game is all about getting the rythm back to our team for the next set of games coming thick and fast starting with Leicester.

Good news is that the squad is back to full strength save for Mo and Sadio. Since our boys who went for their international WC qualifiers have had the chance to get some recent rythm don't think Klopp shall use them tonight. He will use the others and also fully utilise the 5 subs.

Think Gomez, Naby, Moreton and Ox might start. Thiago(if his chest infection has gone away), Harvey and Origi should be on the bench and probably come on sometime during the match.

Early kick off, so hopefully should be a good watch and most importantly no more injuries.

Curtis Jones has not been improving. He has been missing chances for a few matches now. When Harvey Elliot is fit, I don't see CJ playing a lot of games in future. He's not so reliable.

Looking forward to seeing Harvey Elliot and Luis Diaz getting some minutes in the 2nd half. 5 substitutions in the FA Cup if I am correct.
