see you just answered your own questions, so many running around....
During Songkran period u can expect all the prices to be jacked up similar to CNY period, but u should try to head down to hatyai instead to see more festive type events. Dont forget to bring your "super soaker Xtreme" water gun to shoot the puyings... haha in my mind, i imagine it being a massive wet t-shirt contest ahaha but then again i have a very wild imagination
Happy to meet up if u are there at similar times
I'll be there from the 9thApril onwards.
If you get splashed , DO NOT GET ANGRY. Just go with the flow with the thais; its a 'form' of blessing.
Just to add a little more....the water splashing is a kind of...to wash away your bad luck and clean you up for luck in the coming new year.......!
So when they are doing that for you....that is why you are not supposed to get angry over it.....many many years back I still remember they also use powder but I think that trend dies off....it is suppose to bring you good luck and youth!
I still remember one when I was there, there are many groups of Malaysian and Singaporean who rented a pick-up truck and fill up with big steel tank c/w electric pump and starts splashing water from the truck whenever they see a nice puyings walks by.......hahahahah!

Not advisable to park behind the Thai Customs. I have seen too many boken window glasses on the tarmac. Safer to park at the Duty Free.
yar thanks bro.. but if i wan to drive in to dannok??? safe???
Safest is to drive into Danok and park there. Since you are staying in Oscar, they have limited parking lots below the hotel. Otherwise park on the side of the road beside Oscar Hotel on the left (when u face Oscar) Try not to park on the right side (entering lane). That lane be rowdy at night. Better go in and turn out to the left side, have many parking area. Very safe, hav been parking there for many many times.
Just make sure you have the proper paper works to get your car in. If not sure read Holymannn signature, there is a guide.
