Re: Batam, Bintan, Balai Field reports
Hi Cheongsters
Just got back from Batam over the Good Friday weekend. I felt Btm has improved lately with Nagoya Hill shopping mall - new shopping mall just infront of Lucky Plaza - about five blocks ahead. You can find solid cafes n a four-cinema plaza there. It is 5 - storey high with great architecture. I was impressed. Price for a weekend movie ticket is 25 000 Rp. Most food costs less than 60 000 Rp for two diners in a solid restaurant. You can take the ferry (Wave master) to Batam Ampar Harbour Bay ferry terminal costing $34 and only takes you 45 mins to reach there. Cab cost is around 20 000 Rp is you take them outside the terminal. At the ferry terminal, there is a 30-stalls open air food paradise next to the whard which makes dining romantic and windy. You can impress yr gal there with good cheap food. It costs less than $30 with good 5-course dishes kind of Chinese food. I agreed that many cheongsters have left Btm for good as all the casinoes were already gone for good. Some people rejuvenated it but authorities closed it down last week I heard. The karaoke and massage joints are still all there and FLs operate in discos and some in shopping malls. Just chat with them and if they like you is it is on already. Cheongsters that need more info can PM me. Happy cheonging!!! |

Re: Batam, Bintan, Balai Field reports
Very good and updated info.
Yes, Batam is still fun for those who don't really like the very Kumpung feel. But then again Batam is still a Kumpung compared to Singapore or Jakarta and other big cities, but it's a modern Kumpung hahaha.....

Re: Batam, Bintan, Balai Field reports
Yo Bros.
the long weekend in Balai is finally over and for the 5 of us who went there, its a fulfilling trip, amid some drama and most importantly i believe all of us enjoyed ourselves. Day 1 - Thursday (evening) We arrive at Pukang at about 820pm SG time. The slow ferry Penguin Princess took forever to reach Balai. Our Driver was waiting for us at the pelabuhan and we all managed to clr customs without any hassle and was chauffered straight to Maximillion ( where we will be staying for the next 3 days till sunday). As usual my girl was waiting for me at the perlabuhan with my driver and seeing her gave me the feeling of homecoming. Not long after we met our local friend who informed us that Bravo and Santana was closed for the night due to the Good Friday christian celebrations. So we had dinner at our favourite Nasi Padang stall and then went to the 7th floor Maxi KTV to have some beers and TCSS. Bro Raverboy took one of the local FL recommended by my girl and Bro Bochun had his regular FL 18yo SYT waiting for him at the hotel too. We went to Villa and brother Veme got a SYT for his companion for that night. We spend about 2-3 hours at Maxi's KTV that night and after that it was back to our room for our opening shots for the Balai trip. And that ended our first day/ evening at Balai. TBC..... |

Re: Batam, Bintan, Balai Field reports
Day 2 - Friday
Bochun and myself got up at about 8am + next morning and we proceeded to call the rest for breakfast at our usual Bak Kut Teh stall located near Maxi. Bro Veme, Raverboy and Albert didnt join us as they were still in bed so it was Bochun and myself for breakfast that morning. We had a nice breakfast and made some interesting conversation with the local malay minah working in the shop who bro Bochuns has been very interested in for a long time. After breakfast we met up with the rest of the bros and we got our driver to bring us to Villa to get girls for the bros who had wanted girls. Bro Veme had some drama when he wanted to tambah his girl from last night but unfortunately was informed that she already had a prior booking for that day and the next. Anyway we all went to villa and all the bros got pretty girls for themselves. Veme, albert and Raverboy all got their dream girls and we headed back to the hotel. After heading back to the hotel, some of the bros wanted to check out their new arrivals so we all adjourned to our rooms for some morning action. Bro Bochuns then went with our driver to the perlabuhan to pick up his 7 friends who arrived that morning at around 10am+ local time. They were put up at Padi Mas hotel and got girls from villas too. We met again after lunch and Bochuns, raverboy and myself we went to our favourite BEST message for a 2 hour massage session to ease our stress and TCSS. The other 2 bros were busy in their hotel rooms during quality inspections on their new arrivals. By the time we came back from massage it was almost 6pm so we retired to our rooms and met up about an hour later for dinner at our favourite nasi padang stall. Dinner was finished at about 8pm and we rested abit before we met up at about 930pm to go to Bravo to chiong. Bravo wasnt full that night maybe 75% full. However music was awesome and we all had a wonderful time. We came back at around 130am local time. That was day 2 TBC... |

Re: Batam, Bintan, Balai Field reports
Day 3 - Saturday
Saturday morning greeted us as a warm and sunny day. Bochuns and myself got out of bed and as the rest were still sleeping, we went to our usual Bak Kut Teh stall again for breakfast. When we came back we found out that Veme had gone to Villa on his own and got another girl (500K rupiah!!) Raverboy and Albert both kept their Villa girls for the same day as they were happy with their services. Bochuns friends left Balai at the 115pm ferry that afternoon. At late morning, Bochun and myself again went to have our massage at BEST and came back 2 hours later. That afternoon we decided to go to the Pantai Pelawan and left at around 3pm afternoon. We spend the next 3 hours at the Pantai and while on the way back had a brief stop at the Santini to admire the lake view and also grab some BBQ sweetcorns. After our trip from Pantai, bochun and myself went to book a seafood dinner for the grp. As we wanted to have kepiting for dinner, we went to Tanjung Balai Seafood (Ah Pui) and Silver River to check out the kepiting. Both had no more kepitings. So we went to Long Beach and found they had kepitings and we booked our dinner for that night there. We went at about 9pm SG time for dinner and had a wonderful dinner which finished at about almost 1030pm. We went back and rested abit and met up at about 11pm to go to Bravo. Bravo that evening was more crowded and we saw lots of FLs and SYTs going around looking for Tamu. We finished at around 2am and went back to hotel for the night. That was day 3. tbc... |

Re: Batam, Bintan, Balai Field reports
Day - 4
We had all booked our ferry for 115pm departure (local time). Woke up at almost noon time on Sunday morning. Bochuns, reverboy and myself went to have breakfast/ lunch at the Bak Kut Teh stall as usual while the other 2 bros had already had theirs and were in their rooms relaxing. Came back to hotel at about 1 pm SG time and proceed to pack our stuff and checked out. A bit of drama happened when my laundry which was sent for cleaning the day before didnt come back. As we were rushing to catch the ferry, i decided to ask my girl to pick up my laundry later from the hotel after my departure and keep it for me until my return trip next month. Bochuns girl had no room to stay due to some complications and i asked my girl to allow her to put up at her place for the time being while she searches for an apartment. These little dramas certianly spiced up the trip somewhat haha. So that ended our 4 days and 3 nights in Balai. Looking forward to our May trip. Cheers |
