just got the news from football365:

Liverpool have added Xabi Alonso to their growing list of players to sign new contracts this week.

On Monday it was Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher penning new four-year deals, and on Thursday goalkeeper Jose Reina signed a five-year contract.

Now his fellow Spanish international Alonso has made it four players committing their futures with a five-year deal of his own, and Mohamed Sissoko and Steve Finnan are expected to follow over the weekend.

Yah.. Collymore..but he was only effective for 2 seasons...and after that also become diam diam liaoz...

his transfer fees was a record...8.5 m pounds..and the 1st goal he score during his debut was a screamer....seems like more good things to come from him...but alas... he stole the headline for the wrong reason...

agreed with collymore... one who did himself no favour by not realising his own tremendous potential. sometimes when a guy is stupid but talented, he still has can make it by surrounding himself with well-meaning people, actually. but then again, he didnt. robbie fowler was a loose cannon, but he made it big by trusting the right people...

there was a big hoohaa with nicky barmby actually... but he wasnt exactly a big star to begin with, at least not as critical as sol campbell. he was developed into the spurs cornerstone in defence, a defensive lynchpin, one of the best defenders in the business, if not the best, not to mention that he was spurs captain then... guess his defection was amplified due to his status at spurs.

Alonso has signed a contract extension. At least that means our core is Pepe, Carra, Stevie and Alonso.

I think Beardsley was sold to Everton by Souness. He's one of the better players in Liverpool at that time. Great awareness of his mates in the penalty area, good striker of the ball, regular england player where he combined well with Lineker. I like his style of play a lot. Was quite sad when he left, let alone join everton.

Don't put him together with Campbell please. Campbell wanted to move for financial purposes. Beardsley was sold by Souness, if I remember correctly. Souness is the worst manager in our recent history.

I agree wholeheartedly... and he was the worst manager at the most important transition period to the Premiership. Almost all our failings can be traced back to his tenure as manager....

when he was playing for Forest against sillypore..in 94/5 season..i was there and was in fact slivating the prospect of him joining pool..but in fact he din disappoint the fans during his short career time span there..he has 2 great season..and he re-coup 7 million pounds back from his transf to Villa.

hahaha....i know about that...me just trying to mention some of the players that play on both side of merseyside....

definitely..i know he did not move for greed..and when i see him played for newcastle during the later stage of his career.. i say 'wow! this fella is still darn good'...

souness is definitely one of the worse manager (though he was a decent player) i ever seen..

his career CV..is so colourful..including the planting of 'dunno what flag' during one of the Turkish match when he manage Galasataray...

And is he the one who bought Titus Bramble and Boumsong for Newcastle...hahhahahaha
