not exaggerating, i can show post wechat pics of their menu price if u want, some whore house hv alr closes, KTVs r facing fierce competition also, price hv come down a bit recently but still fucking expensive compared to other SEA places n quality not that good also, KTVs tabaos 150 to 250 r usually viets or tiongs

The modus operandi of Ah Tiongs has always been short term gains.
They will milk it for what's it worth but will not be sustainable in the long run because the over the top business model will self destruct by market forces or authorities.

I see it first hand in Dongguan, China myself.
Boom to bust in a matter of 15 years.

I think this is the only place in the world where one could have free lunch and dinner. I personally know of a China guy who have lived in Sihanouk for the past 10yrs and evryday he just rode his motorcycle to these casinos for his free lunch and dinner but from time to time he will pretend to gamble those machine roulettes at v small stakes. Theres another Malaysian Chinese who did d same thing in sihanok for about six mths but he's now back to malacca. When I was in Sihanouk, I also would pillion my sifu to all these casinos for our free makan and drinks without gambling.

In Fortuna casino, on every 10,20 and 30th of every month, dinner was specially served with v gd food and Wine. I'm not too sure if this is still practiced in Fortuna.

It was in fortuna casino that I and my sifu met a China lady gambler who went to Mongla and told us about mongla.

At that kind of prices for girls , don't hv high cheonging expectations, but should make a virgin trip just for the experience n feel.
But maybe bro soh.b.k have a diff perspective since he plan for retirement there. Free lunch n dinner at casinos is a big reduction on daily expenses.
I m also looking for a place to retire, philiipines n Vietnam still my preferred choice at this time.
Looking forward to bro soh's more insights.

Basically, I'm going to mocbai together with a friend to explore a possibility of doing a very small business and if the business is ok, 100% we will retire in Cambodia.

To retire in a foreign land, obviously must have enough money to last. As a Singaporean, we can easily fit into any Asian countries and depending on where our gf from, that would be the retiring country of our choice.

Because I don't hv much money, therefore I need to go to a place that is cheap, relatively safe and not so hectic. I choose Cambodia because it so happened that i saw a business opportunity just fit for me and my friend to exploit, the cost of living is low, the women here are hard working, traditional and filial to their parents and cheap to maintain.

To understand Cambodia better, Naemlo is a better person to consult as he is staying n doing business in Phnom penh.

Next year 1st quarter, i should be permanently based for retirement, hv been planning for some time.

I did considered your retirement choices...philippines, vietnam and thailand,,..since 2008 I chose vietnam...but prices had increased due to inflation and other factors...no longer very cheap unless live like locals...

another factor is airline ticket cost...I still managed to buy ticket to and fro hcm at less than sgd 90 till april 2019...dun think now can get...

free lunch is good n all but i hv been here 7years alr, the housing prices i hv seen inccrease from 150$ for a western modern style apartment to 400$ shitty apartment now is mind boggling, so for retirement housing PP has a much better value for money, everything else is expensive, medicine, imported food, clothes, etc

if u hv a biz opportunity then cambodia can be consider as retirement place, for those that dun hv a passive income here, u hv to live like a local to survive, in just past year alone, ang moh retirees in chinkville hv gone down to nearly zero, most of them went in droves to vung tau, driven insane by housing prices, cost of living etc

interesting to note...no wonder VT now hv a bigger expat community...but the rental in VT is also insane...can cost same or higher as hcm...most of the food esp water cost more...

condo prices definitely higher...

now Nha Trang and Danang expat community very lively and property prices shooting the sky...

nha trang hv been there more than 10yrs ago, it was quite developed back then, heard lots of russians laundered their money their through resorts in the 90s, thats why hv so many resorts there, and prices hv been going up up up since then, danang is much tamer compared to nha trang n vung tau, hvnt been to these places for a long time liao, wld like to make a trip again one day.

back to VT, lots of bars, pubs popping up to cater to these expats from what i heard, so it is good for retirees now, last time VT used to be weekend estacy party place for saigoneers

China manufactured buses like the ones I took in Danshui and Changping.
Aircon gao lat and no need breath in fumes unlike taking tuk tuk.

Lost and drink kopi first while research where to stay.
